These are 2 prong where many are only single prong now. That is a plus imo. They aren't as secure as many others though. They do have a center mounting screw with a backing washer (Many don't.) but the screw seems to be shorter and don't seem to be as secure. I checked it on a couple and outlets with the same results. A lot of these expanders in like Lowes and Home Depot have left off the fixing screw, so when you pull out a plug the whole thing can come unplugged. This solution keeps the screw and a simple faceplate pull and you have a solid solution

These are a great upgrade to the old ivory outlets on the white walls. Remove the plate screw and screw in the outlet expander. No need for all those power strips.

Easy to install, bought because it has the retaining screw to hold it on to the socket as well as two grounding pins. Better electrical and physical reliability in use. Obviously doesn't sit flush with the wall in use, removing the wall plate only improves the appearance somewhat - use what you prefer, but understand that there's not a concave back that will allow it to sit flush against your wall. If you're OK with that (which I was), then you should really like these. Price was right as well. ... show more
