Features 5

  • Three Displays For More Projects: Build a sensor dashboard, robot status panel and classroom demo at the same time, or keep spare modules ready for testing; each compact screen delivers 128x64 graphics with self-luminous pixels and no backlight
  • Fixed Yellow-Blue Zones Make Status Information Easy To Scan: Use the yellow upper band for headings, alerts or icons and the blue lower area for readings and menus; the display colors are fixed by the OLED panel rather than programmable RGB, and the screen does not support touch input
  • Four-Wire I2C Connection Saves Controller Pins: Connect GND, VCC, SCL and SDA according to the module labels, scan the I2C bus and use the default 7-bit address 0x3C; the 0x78 PCB marking represents the corresponding 8-bit write-address format used by some documentation
  • Works With Common 3.3 V & 5 V Project Platforms: Add compact visual feedback to compatible microcontroller and single-board computer projects, but verify the module pin order, supply voltage, I2C logic levels, pull-up voltage and SSD1306 software configuration before powering

Description

Note: The 7-bit I2C address of the 0.96-inch OLED screen is 0111100 (0x3C). 0x78 in the PCB is 0111100, and the 8th bit represents the "write" operation. If the code only specifies the I2C slave device address, use the 7-bit binary code (such as 0x3C). Specifications: Q1: The I2C scanner reads the address 0x78. Should I use 0x78 directly in the code? A: Do NOT use 0x78 directly! 0x78 is the 8-bit I2C write address (the least significant bit is the read/write control bit). Shift it right by 1 bit: 0x78 >> 1 = 0x3C. 0x3C is the 7-bit device address required by most libraries. Popular OLED libraries for Arduino and ESP32 (U8G2, Adafruit_SSD1306, SSD1306Wire) all accept the 7-bit address 0x3C. Wrong usage: display.begin(0x78); → The OLED screen will not light up Correct usage: display.begin(0x3C); Q2: When to use address 0x3C, and when to use 0x3D? A: The address is determined by the logic level of pin SA0 on the PCB (hardware feature of SSD1306): The OLED display doesn’t require backlight, which results in a very nice contrast in dark environments. Additionally, its pixels consume energy only when they are on, so the OLED display consumes less power when compared with other displays. The model we’re using here has only four pins and communicates with the ESP32 using I2C communication protocol. There are models that come with an extra RESET pin. There are also other OLED displays that communicate using SPI communication. Because the OLED display uses I2C communication protocol, wiring is very simple. You just need to connect to the ESP32 I2C pins as D21(SDA)、D22(SCL) To control the OLED display you need the adafruit_SSD1306.h and the adafruit_GFX.h libraries. Follow the next instructions to install those libraries.

Great little OLEDS
Color: Single White
I've used these OLED displays on multiple projects with zero issues. I'll definitely be buying more once needed.

Worked well once I sorted out three parameters.
Color: Single White
The one's I received were addressable at I2C address 0x3C. They have a whitish-blue color on black. Very readable. Used the Adafruit GFX and SSD1306 libraries with the Adafruit 1306 example for I2C 128x64 - just changed the address from 0x3D to 0x3C. Then I had hooked it up to GPIO pins 32/33 so I had to add a Wire.begin(33,32) to the setup() function right after Serial.begin(9600) ... show more

Cheap and simple
Color: Yellow & Blue
Driver ssd1306 works perfect on this with zephyr. Easy setup, fast refresh rate, and works on any application.

Works great, you may need the "U8g2" library (by olikraus).
Color: Yellow & Blue
My particular panel was an SSD1315 and with my Arduino Uno I had to install the "U8g2" library (by olikraus) to get it to work. Works wonderfully. The top 1/4 or so is yellow, the rest is blue.

Very nice display, compact, easy to wire up
Color: Yellow & Blue
These displays are 120x64 pixels with yellow LEDs in the first 16 rows (2 rows of 7x5 characters), blue LEDs in the rest of the display. They do come in all-white, all-blue variants. The colors are fixed, this is a monochromatic display. The interface is I2C so there are only 4 wires needed, I2C plus pwr/gnd. The Adafruit drivers allow for a lot of graphical display features, draw lines, circles, polygons, filled/empty, plus character fonts. In my project there was not enough memory to use the Adafruit drivers. There is an ASCII driver: U8g2 (SSD1306AsciiAvrI2C.h and SSD1306Ascii.h) that requires much less RAM and it worked fine for me. If I initialized the driver as 120x64 I got 8 character lines, if I told it 120x32 (from example code) I got 4 lines of bigger characters. The 8-line display is nice and sharp but the chars are less that 1/8” tall! ... show more

Great, but be careful with pinout
Color: Single White
Display is crisp and all three devices worked perfectly. They shipped with the headers still attached. ONE CAVEAT: The ground and Vcc pins are reversed in order compared to another manufacturer’s device. Nasty surprise, but no real harm done. Would have been 5 stars if the swapped pins hadn’t existed. ... show more

Nice little I2C displays!
Color: Yellow & Blue
Good quality display for the small size. No documentation with package. Displays came in individual plastic cases, protecting them during shipment.

They simply work
Color: Yellow & Blue
These work great! But, if you plan to mount directly to your microcontroller check the pinouts to make sure they match up.
