The media could not be loaded. Have tried 3 roll-up drum kits now but this is pretty much the worst. It’s not awful though! It just has the most quirks. First off, fresh out of the box, hitting the middle tom (and other drums adjacent) would trigger the left tom. This issue slowly resolved itself over a period of a few days and we almost returned it because of it. No coincidence that the fold runs through the misfiring tom. Built quality is pretty much ok but sound quality is just so-so from the built in speakers. My 6YO son fast found the down-firing speakers (or bass ports?) and poked his finger through one. No grille or protection over whatever they are. The speakers are part of the audio problem but so are the drum samples being used. Listening through headphones, there’s an audible hiss whenever samples play. Some of the drum “kits” are duplicated, which is just sloppy. Some samples cut off early. A couple of the kits sound decent / interesting. Weirdly, the demo tracks seem to use kits / drum samples that don’t exist on this unit. For me, it’s more useful as a MIDI instrument. It’s easy to hook up to a computer or iPad using USB. Logic recognizes it as a GM kit. There’s no velocity tracking but it’s still fun to trigger different (better) kit samples from your computer. So it does have some redeeming features. It’s nice to have built in recording (son likes that), plus music to play along with. The headphone out is good for silent practice. The foot switches do the job, and the speaker out lets you hook up to a better / louder speaker set if you wish. It’s reasonably priced but, given the similar cost to other units that have fewer quirks, hard to give this a lot of stars.. my son loves it, so 4 stars for that. If you’re more picky about drum samples, this is 3 stars at best.

This is a decent drum pad. It's perfect for anyone who just wants to play and have fun. It works pretty good but sometimes when you hit the snare or hi hat, it plays a tom sound from the tom nearby it. I love that each drum and cymbal is labeled. You can control the volume and there is a headphone jack so you can play without bothering anyone. It has the ability to change drum sounds and you can play different demo songs and rhythms to follow along with. It plugs into a USB-A adapter charger so that you need to have on hand because it only comes with the USB-C to A cable which is not that long but long enough. It comes folded up in a box that you can easily store it later. Definitely a great gift for anyone who can't afford a drum kit or doesn't have room for one and just wants to have fun.

Interesting concept. I liked the idea of the pads sitting flat on a surface but, frankly, the block that contains the electronics, etc., seemed to keep getting in the way and also negated the benefit of the flat pads. It would have been nice if you could have an option to separate the two. Also, the pad itself is very sensitive and prone to toss in extra beats here and there sometimes for no apparent reason. I did like the pedal idea, which controlled the kick drum and high hat triggers. Clever execution. The sounds, however, did not impress me. I have heard more authentic "patches" in toy keyboards. So might this be good for as a target audience? Perhaps beginners, i.e. those who are just learning how to handle drumsticks and keeping time. Even then, I'm thinking more like early teens and the like. I'll break this out when my grand kids come over and invite them to "jam" with me when I pull out a guitar or play something on the keyboard I picked up them. Could I envision using this during an actual gig or for recording purposes? No. The bottom line: this is NOT a "professional electronic drum set," as the item description describes it. Three stars.

The media could not be loaded. I have another electronic drum mat and the kids love it and use it all the time. It seems like whenever one of them gets it out that's right when another wants to play with it to. So I thought I'd try another one that's a little bit different and give them another option. I will say right away that you might need to let the mat lay out flat for a period of time after the initial unboxing in order for it to work correctly. I thought this was defective right out of the package. When I started using it hitting one drum would sometimes instead register as a hit on an adjacent drum. A snare hit would play a bass hit; a crash would register as a tom hit; and so on. Hits on the mat in between would also register as hits on the sensors even though it wasn't even close. I left it lay on the table for a few hours while I did other things and then came back to try again. After that it worked fine, no hits registering that weren't on the sensors I hit. I'm assuming it was something to do with the mat being out of shape from being curled up in the box for so long and it took awhile to fully flatten out. I really like the sensitivity of this drum, I think it's probably better than the other one I have. The tones of the various drum selections are really good but it does have a bit of electronic noise that comes through at the end of every hit. I tried to capture it in the video but I'm not sure if I did. Overall I would say this is a pretty nice drum pad for kids or anyone just wanting to mess around and have to some fun with a little electric drum set that won't break the bank.
