It’s nice having this gadget around for more fresh tasting salt and pepper than the other version I used to used for years (regular shakers). Putting the batteries in and filling with whole peppercorns and salt stones is easy. However, changing the texture from fine to coarse is an option but doesn’t work accurately. Also, bits of salt always fall out the bottom after used then picked up from the counter. If you see the other options with the plate/stand, get that one for the fallout. ... show more

I wanted to love these and I really liked them the first couple of uses but after adjusting the coarseness a couple of times one is completely broken and the other isn’t far behind from being completely broken also. The motors run but the coarseness doesn’t change on one and the other won’t stay closed so it just shakes out large salt granduals ... show more
