I just started getting into painting and have been looking for courses that I can take and instructional I can use as I develop techniques. I've followed Sarah for a long time and admire her style, and now I'm able to reference and learn from this amazing book! If you're a painter and want to expand your knowledge and skills, I highly recommend this book! I expected the book to be a little bit more in detailed of the process. Next time I will wait a little longer or read reviews before purchasing. It’s an OK book but nothing that teaches me really anything

I haven't quite finished it yet, but I just love it. I know I will be spending a lot of time with this one. If you are interested in painting realism in oil you might need this. Sarah is an amazing, generous teacher.

I love Sarah's kind encouragement to those who may be intimidated by oils. I joined skillshare just to se her videos and I can honestly say this book is as good as her videos. Very clear and concise, easy to understand. I'm experienced with oils but love, love this book and at the same time if i have anyone ever tell me they want to learn oils I would tell them to start with book, it's that good! ... show more
