  • 3.85 Stars, to be honest.
Color: D300-NA
The Excellent: The CNC milling / routing of the body and neck. Truly the very best neck heel I've ever played on (even makes my ESP/LTD MH-350 neck heel seem somewhat bulky in comparison). Really well done, with the sanding also being very well done. No need to do any filing or sanding in the control cavity or the pickup mortices. The control cavity mortice is also large enough to work fairly easily in to do some soldering. The neck width/depth is very akin to the aforementioned ESP/LTD MH-350; kind of a small C to almost an Ibanez Wizard II or III feel to it. Also, the gig bag is a real winner. This is the kind you'd shell out maybe $50 to $70 + for if you bought one aftermarket. This was indeed a nice bonus to receive with this guitar (as well as the cable, strap, cleaning cloth and the clip on tuner). The Good: The authentic Floyd Rose Special vibrato and nut. Also, the volume and tone knobs are not made of cheap, light plastic; these are metal. The tuners work well, and because the tuners only have to get you "in the neighborhood" with tuning because, once you lock the nut, the fine tuners do the work, they are more than fine for this instrument. The Adequate: The pots, switch and pickups. Although for me, the OEM pickups were really thin and "nasal" for my taste, so I swapped 'em out for a set of zebra, high output, alnico V Fleors. I also swapped the mounting rings and switch cap. The Poor: The plastic pieces for the cover for the vibrato springs and control cavity are slightly too large for their respective routs and may require some sanding on their edges to make them fit correctly. The Atrociously AWFUL: The frets. The fret sprout was horrendous (genuinely to the point of cutting me), and required more than a half hour of work with the StewMac Fret End Dressing File. Plus, the 23rd fret was cut too short and at the wrong angle. Other reviewers have mentioned the scratchiness of the frets, and they are absolutely correct. But, I've found either playing the snot out of it or using the green Scotch Brite pads (NEVER steel wool) will take care of this issue. The Verdict: This is truly an excellent platform if you're willing to put a little work into it. If you're into doing some modifications, and are not afraid of using a fret file and maybe doing some soldering if you want to swap pickups, this is an excellent choice. However, if you're looking for "ready to rock, straight out of the box", you might be somewhat disappointed. As always, your individual mileage may vary. ... show more

  • Best value double locking guitar!
Color: D300-NA
The only through body guitar I have seen for under $1000.00 Plus it is well made and plays well right out of the box. I am glad I purchased this guitar. And I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a double locking tremolo guitar.

  • Good for money
Color: D300-NA
It's a good guitar. Needed a fret job The frets were rough the pickups were wired incorrectly. But for the price tinker with it a little bit and it becomes a really good guitar

  • Punching way above the price
Color: D300-NA
Beautiful construction, thru neck. Real FR. Needs a bit of setup nut what guitar doesn't. Got the good bag, everything right but no strings. Junk anyway, so no loss. I bought the 5 string bass in this same body style, outstanding active bass. Bullfighter is stepping it up!

  • Worth way more than its price.
Color: D300-NA
The guitar came fairly well set up, needing only a truss rod tweak to play well. The pickups are actually Alnico, and they sound good despite their obvious cheapness. I lucked out with the electronics in that I wound up with an intermittent connection in the stock wiring, so I upgraded partially. That means I wound up with a screw problem with one of the pickups I was going to swap in, so I just went with the stock neck pickup (which I like anyway). I think I screwed up the wiring, but I think I like the sounds I get better than what I was supposed to get. Either that, or they described on of the switch positions wrongly. The ears like most of the results and I have at least one more usable sound than I used to. That's a win. This guitar therefore makes a killer upgrade platform! ... show more
