This mat helps with a wide range of cooking and food prep tasks. I've used it to melt things and keep food hot while cooking other food on the stove. This helps me extend my kitchen functionality when preparing several items at once. It's great for gift giving, but also a perfect addition for any kitchen. I will start out by saying that this is the third food warming mat I have ordered so I know a thing or two about them. I love food warming mats and this is my favorite one. Although it is oval shaped and not rectangular, it will warm the same amount of food. Essentially, they all will easily accommodate two 9 x 13 inch pans. This one is made of nice thick silicone, you can tell that it is constructed to hold up over time. They all warm food, but this one goes from 104 all the way to 248 degrees which is by far better than the others I have. It can be used without a timer, or with a 1, 2, 3 or 4 hour timer setting. Not all food warming mats have timers. It also has a child proof lock setting which my other two food warming mats do not have which is one of the reasons I like this one the best. Another thing I really like about this mat is that the storage bag that it comes in is much nicer than the other mats I have. I found that the other bags were a bit thin; however, this one is made of material that is thicker and will hold up much nicer and is roomer so it's not as difficult to get the mat to fit back into the bag once you have removed it. This definitely will be my go-to food warming mat while the others will be brought out for the bigger occasions.

I've been looking at these warming mats for a little while, and decided to go with this one because it has more available temperature settings than most, making it a little more versatile. I've been pleasantly surprised by the utility of it. It's well-made and the temperatures are acceptably accurate. In the photo I attached, the temperature was set to 122°F, and it's hard to see but the temperature in the center of the mat is 119.6°F. Directly over the heating element, the temperature is higher, but when you put a plate or pot on the pad, it is held to pretty close to the set temperature. The picture cuts out the low temperature to the far right, but a few inches from the pad remains room temperature. The cord fits snugly and does not get warm. It's plenty long, without being a safety hazard. The surface is silicone, and easy to clean by simply wiping it off. Storage is easy because it just rolls up. This is the perfect item to keep dishes warm for a larger gathering, but it's also convenient for smaller meals, when different items are finished at different times, or if you're waiting for someone to show up and want to keep their food warm. This is definitely one of those items you never know you need until you have one.

The media could not be loaded. First, it’s worth noting that while the product images list eight temperature settings ending with 230, my mat also has 248 F - you can see that briefly in the vendor’s video, as well. The timeout options are 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours - or no set time. I got several different warming mats, for when I have company. Past experience suggests that the type of container you’ve got the food in will make a difference in its success. These work great on takeout containers and lighter plates, like Corelle. I even had success on this one with an old Corningware casserole. Another mat had trouble with a Fiesta plate, but this mat has higher temperature settings, so that might help. Pros: * 9 (or even 8) temperature settings is more than any other one I’ve seen, with a range of temperature options that starts lower and ends higher than the others. * The nubs on the bottom are 1/2”, which is a bit higher than some. * Silicone gives it traction, so nothing slides anywhere you don’t want it to. It also makes basic cleaning super-easy. * The cord seats securely in the mat, so I can move it around without the cord falling out. * It comes with a velcro strap to keep it securely rolled up when not in use. Cons: * The lock feature doesn’t work. The first time I used the mat, it locked automatically, as expected. When I tried to change the temperature, it let me do that without unlocking, and now it doesn’t lock at all. Which is fine with me, I didn’t particularly want that feature, but still… * In spite of the nubs, the surface under the mat gets quite hot. That happens with all of them, and makes me nervous. * None of the four I have are really accurate, temperature-wise. Most of them run a little warm. This one runs cool. Not sure how much difference that actually makes, but guessing the 104 setting, at least, isn’t going to be good for much - maybe warming something refrigerated up to room temperature a bit more quickly. * The closure strap is a little short and does not have a buckle like my others have, which makes it awkward to close around the mat. Because of the fact that one of the features is broken right off the bat (no matter how little I wanted that feature), I have to knock off a point. However, the temperature range makes this one exceptional.

I used this warming tray on Thanksgiving to keep a tray of macaroni and cheese warm. After about an hour of it being on with the food on it, I checked the mac and cheese and didn't feel as if it was warming it the way others in the reviews have mentioned. It was just barely luke-warm, and I had it on a pretty substantial setting as far as temperature is concerned. All in all, maybe for a less heavy dish it would work better, but it really didn't wow me like others have stated with regard to their experiences. I do appreciate that the warming mat can be easily rolled away into a storage bag and hung in my walk-in pantry. It's also easy to clean and a decent size. You could easily fit 2 medium trays of food or even 3 small trays on it with no problem. I will use it again in the future and update my review if I feel any differently.
