Cons: Although it comes with tools for buffing and cutting, it really doesn’t have enough power to sand or cut anything stronger than cardstock, fingernails, or skin. Pros: It is definitely useful for *engraving. I haven’t yet tried any metals or glass, but it works on wood and plastic. I successfully engraved the measurements on all my measuring spoons that had lost their labels. I also like the slender *design, like a pen, so it’s easy to handle and manipulate. Don’t try some huge project with this but for small jobs (I use mine on glass) it’s great. Lots of head options. Lots of uses.

For the price, this works great! Comes with stencils that are great to use. I guess if you are into heavy duty engraving, this wouldn't be for you. But for a fun hobby with stones, glass, metal it works. It's rechargeable which I like, and it goes a long way before you need to recharge.

It works for everything I've etched so far. Basically wanted it for marking tools and equipment. It is kind of weak, so don't expect magic. It can etch initials into hardened steel tools. The battery lasted a long time.

    • THE HOTROSE ENGRAVING PEN Met My Expectations.
Although I just received and tried the pen, I have given it five stars since it meets all the specs. I completed the manufacturer's charge in about thirty minutes before trying it and listed the bits and other items included in order to determine the use of each one. The thirty engraving units lined up in the plastic box provide different styles and sizes to suit the materials to be used. Then I tried the one I thought would be the best one for a small project I have in mind, and it worked fine. By looking at the videos I already had an idea of what to expect; hence, no surprises.
