    • No Way to Change Velocity Settings

These pads have potential to be great with the ability to function as a stand alone or be connected to your computer. The biggest downside for me is that you aren't able to control the velocity. This essentially means that the pad can only receive and return 100% of the signal. I was confused at first, since you do have the ability to change the pressure levels. (how hard you hit the pads before a sound is made). Perhaps velocity control is more difficult or too expensive to make in these? Anyway, this is a deal breaker for me. I need to be able to control dynamic range (soft and loud parts during a performance). Overall, I'm not too disappointed since this is a drum pad for kids. I took a chance after reading that it has MIDI capabilities and thought I could use it in my DAW. Technically, it is recognized and the pads send the different signals... but with no volume (velocity) control. Close but no cigar. ... show more

My grand kids are to young to play on the big drums and this is the best idea for them. Perfect for them just starting out learning how to play. It folds up nicely for storage and for travel. Rat-a-tat-tat so happy I can teach my youngin about drumming and percussion instruments without the bulkiness of an actually drum set. Space is at a premium here. We get the same effects, same feel/reactions. And when we are done with our lesson, we can put it up and store away.
