First of all received a used product. Decided to still install it but the product was small ~5 inches and did not cover the nail holes/missing paint marks. Overall the quality seems to be ok, just a simple plastic case. Returning this to order the original nest trim kit from google.

Firstly, make sure you get the right version. The back of the newer Nest, has different connections than the older ones. The pictures are a great help in making sure you choose the correct version. The main purpose of the plate is to hide the holes, left over from older thermostats. It does this brilliantly. It fixes very easily, and the back part of the Nest just attaches with the same screws. The material is good and sturdy. Easy to install and perfect fit. However the whole trim is really small so if you had one of those old rectangle thermostats a d replaced with nest you will still see pain / wall shadow and this trim will not cover the whole thing.
