I have tried numerous other coffees and always return to this one. Dark roast, organic, decaf. It’s not easy to find a decaf dark roast that is rich and smoky like this one. I love a strong flavor, and this satisfies. I also make this in my French press, which is the recommended brewing method, so I guess that helps. I savor every sip of this! ... show more

The most important thing for me is that it had a nice dark, oily bean (strong dark roast) and didn't give me any stomach acid even though I drank alot. (because it was very good)

    • Delicious dark roast!
I have purchased this French Roast coffee from Whole Foods for years. I have tried coffee beans from Peets, Starbucks, specialty coffee shops in every place I visit and all brands carried in local stores and I always compare it to this one. So far none is better if you like the deep smooth strong rich flavor without bitterness. While I usually buy it at Whole Foods, sometimes during the pandemic they've been out of it, so I was happy to order it on Amazon. I was not disappointed, same stuff. 1/14/22 update. They only have one of these in stock on Amazon and I have to order other stuff I don't need in order to fill up a cart. I would gladly buy 4 of these to make the minimum, but I guess I will be buying other types of coffee for a while. For some reason Whole Foods is always out of this or very low on stock of this, their most popular variety in my area. It seems they should focus on stocking more of this and less of their other coffees! After 2 years of the Rona NOW they decide to have shortages. Let's go you know who. ... show more

I've been purchasing this coffee for a while now, and every bag has turned out perfect coffee taste (for me at least). I'll continue to buy them.

Don’t get me wrong 😑 pretty good coffee just was at end of Expo date seriously less than 2 weeks to drink it pretty shady if you ask me Makes me think it would be a lot better if it was fresh

If you like dark strong coffee this is the best. Nothing shrill or 'green' about it. It's really good. We haven't found any coffee that's as good, and we've tried a lot. We used to order the gigantic bags just so we wouldn't run out. But Allegro was bought by Whole Foods and now WF seems to be discontinuing it. It's getting very hard to find and there are long delays for orders. Given that this is a triumph of coffee, and organic, the situation is hard to understand. If you see this coffee, and like strong coffee, buy as many bags as you can. ... show more
