I have been building custom waterloops for well over 10 years and used dozens of different coolants. When running opaque coolants, even semi-opaque like this EK Mystic Fog, they alway, and do mean 100% of the time, break down over time and you always end up with a chalky mess of sediments in your loop to scrub out. It's the accepted trade off you need to be aware of when running a solid color type coolant. That is until I stumble across EK Mystic Fog. It's probably considered semi-opaque because it's ever so slightly transparent and a very effective substitute. Looks absolutely fantastic with a milky white glow and very UV reactive. And by far the best part.. IT DOESN'T BREAK DOWN! To my complete amazement when going to do an upgrade after about 4 months with this coolant, I drained it and could not believe my eyes. Absolutely no sediments anywhere in the loop. This is the ones guys! If you are going to that white coolant look get this stuff. Period. UPDATED REVIEW: Almost 1 year later and on my second bottle of premix. As I stated above in my original review, I did a drain and inspection at 4 months. Everything looks great without any breakdown of the coolant so I did a basic distilled water flush and refilled the loop with a fresh premix bottle of Mystic Fog. Now 8 months later it looks as good as the day I put it in. No noticeable breakdown, sentiment or loss of opacity. Mystic Fog is the real deal. It keeps all my temps in check just as good and any other quality coolant and looks great. If you want that white looks this is honestly the best option. It's plenty white-enough and saves you hours of otherwise teardown and cleaning by hand. Worth every penny! I added some pics I took today at the 8 month mark. UPDATED Jan. 2026: I am now on my 3rd build using Mystic Fog. My initial review is as stands. This stuff is simply the best zero mantanace opaque coolant out there. I do wish they offered different colors with the same formula but maybe adding color is what caused issues. Never the less, white is my go-to. I recommend just buying this premix vs the constraint. Then you know its perfectly measured and mixed. Shake the bottle and pour it in and enjoy. That simple. ... show more

Great stuff doesn’t seem to gunk nearly as much as other cloudy fluids. I’ve been very happy with the lighting absorption and it seems to hold itself together even after long periods of sitting for instance, my computer is completely hardline open loop water cooled and I didn’t use it for almost 6 months during an illness and was able to start it right back up without any gunky sections or clumpy stuff ran just fine and the fluid looks brand new although I know it’s not ... show more

Added to brand new loop with all EK parts. The radiators were precleaned with distilled white vinegar and distilled water. Everything else was rinsed with distilled water prior to installation. I have been running the coolant for a month and I have had no problems in my loop. I made sure to look in the bottom of the bottles before I put it in my system and I saw no evidence of sediment in the bottles I received from Amazon. It is a nice transparent red color. It is not UV reactive but when I change LED fan colors the color of the coolant changes so it provides for some cool effects while not looking over the top. Nice to have a hassle free solution which contains all of the additives your loop needs to resist corrosion and buildup. You can definitely count on EK quality which is why I went with this over some of the other junk out there. I had considered the particle fluids like Vue and mayhem aurora but they basically seem to be a giant hassle and only a temporary show solution not for long-term use. Update : I have been running his fluid in my system for six months I probably run the computer an average of two hours a day. I’ve had zero issues. No buildup or other residue in the loop. Everything is working great. I’m gonna let it go another six months before I clean it. Update 2/26/21 still on the original fluid haven’t had to clean the loop. Loop looks pristine with over 1 yr run time on the original fluid. Very pleased. Update 9/6/21 , Still on the original fluid Without a single cleaning since originally putting the fluid in. The loop looks perfectly clean. The copper water blocks look good, no discoloration or other problems . I’ve used EK-CryoFuel in multiple builds, and it’s consistently reliable. The premix is crystal clear, non-toxic, and plays well with copper, brass, PETG, and acrylic—no weird reactions, no sediment buildup. Good stuff. Kept my temps pretty cool too, but I would caution against colors if at all possible. When doing a clean out and flush of the loop a few months after I found a lot of small color particles throughout my loop and all over the inside of the blocks staining the metal and making it look like corrosion when it wasn't. Thankfully, I had an in-line filter so it caught everything and I was able to clean the filter out and get rid of any gunk left behind. That being said, the color was spot on and gave the exact look I was going for. If my next flush is anything like the first then it may be the coolant otherwise it could have been color sticking to particles that were still left in the loop from my initial setup and flush; I'll update my review on the next flush. ... show more
