These are not very rigid, having some flexibility is good for small adjustments in lining them up with the holes in the brick mortar/siding, but these bend very easily and are fairly useless after they do bend. I'm having to buy another pack because a few had to be discarded because they bent and now don't have enough rigidity to go into the hole in the brick mortar. I looked for additional ones at Lowe's, which are about $1+ less, but they look exactly the same and likely the same quality (flexibility felt about the same) and both times I was there and looked, they were out of black. If I find some that are better quality, I'll surely buy them and happily pay more. ... show more

Recently had black Ekena Millwork shutters put up on my home. The match of the Loks was perfect. They were easy to work with and look great. Good price for this product.

    • Cheap...but no alternative
These will bend over and break if you;re too rough pushing them through. I found I needed to drill the concrete holes a little larger and they went in better. Used a wooden mallet to tap them home. You could squirt some caulk into the hole beforehand and they;d hold better especially if wind is an issue. These all come from the same overseas factory I'd imagine, so trying to find better quality is likely useless. ... show more

    • Need to be harder plastic
Overall works well but should be made out of harder plastic. Real big pain when the spike is half way through the shutter and then becomes bent, where you can no longer hammer because it’s weakened, and impossible to pull the spike out. Had to break the spike, leaving some stuck in the shutter. Only solution was to force the stuck piece out by drilling it through and using a new spike. ... show more
