Description

The Einhell cordless multifunctional tool VARRITO (1x2, 0Ah) is a flexible, high-quality helper for extension and renovation jobs. Thanks to its comprehensive features it helps get jobs such as sawing, grinding/sanding or scraping completed effortlessly. It is a member of the Power-X-Change family, so you can enjoy all of the advantages of Einhell's high-end lithium-ion technology. The cordless multifunctional tool is a high-quality designed for ergonomic operation, so it saves a great deal of effort when used in practice. The quick release, for example, helps you to change accessories without additional tools. This has a magnetic tool fixation for getting the tool ready quickly and comfortably. Also, the tool chuck has twelve adjustable settings. Speed electronics enables the tool to be adjusted to the particular material and application. The Varrito operates at 22, 000 to 40, 000 vibrations to let you work with precision. For safe and comfortable operation there is a soft grip. The product is supplied with a triangular grinding/sanding plate and a set of nine sheets of abrasive paper with different grit sizes (3 P60/3 P80/3 P120). A scraper, a plunge-cut saw blade for wood and plastic (HCS), a BIM plunge-cut blade additionally for metal as well as a segment saw blade for wood, plastic and soft metal (HSS) are all part of the package as well. The Varrito is a member of the Power X-Change series. The advantages of a cordless tool are obvious: Interfering cables, tripping hazards and the distractions caused by restricted movement are all a thing of the past thanks to the new generation of powerful and long-lasting cordless tools from Einhell. Have not put it through all its features but it does work well so far. it doesn't need a tool for the heads and is not proprietary to the heads. Just have to watch out for the snapback after putting the head on. Did not pay attention once was all that was needed. It did not hurt much but was more of a surprise. This tool arrived quickly and is exactly as depicted in the Amazon listing. It's comfortable to handle, doesn't leave your hand tingling after extended use, is easy (and quick) to connect an attachment, and has plenty of power to smoothly and effortlessly cut and sand. The red color of the tool makes it easy to spot on the job site. I generally set my tool down horizontally, so it doesn't bother me that the tool doesn't stand up on the battery for some users (although I did find that mine will indeed stand up but can be easily knocked over, so I set mine down horizontally). Battery life between charges is acceptable and typical for a cordless tool. My other multiuse tools are corded and I now greatly appreciate the portability of a cordless tool, especially when I'm on a ladder or far from a power outlet.     • Love it, with a few small opportunities for improvement

This is one of those tools that you didn't know you'd use all the time until you have one. I had a cheap corded one from H.F. and that made me want to get a better one that was cordless. This one definitely fits the bill. I've used it for cutting wood, acoustic ceiling tiles, scoring brick, sanding, cutting aluminum, and a variety of other materials. It has plenty of power and battery life with the included kit battery. It's easy to adjust the oscillation speed. I like that they include a variety of attachments - sanding pad with a variety of paper grits, metal blade, wood blade, round wood blade, and round diamond blade. Basically, you're getting a good sampling of all the different blades. They aren't cheap as individual purchases, so that's a nice touch. I've used all of them, and can't complain about any of them. The quick release is much nicer than having to use a chuck key or spanner. To that point, if you buy blades, you can use ones meant for a quick release, but Einhell also includes a washer type thing that lets you use non-quick-release blades as well. I really like the battery system - the charger works well and the LEDs give good status updates. The charger also has some wire management on its backside to support different usage layouts, and it has keyholes in it (and dimensions supplied) so that you can securely wall mount it. The battery also has a button that shows the status in a 3-bar capacity indicator. As for things that would be good improvements...The quick release is a bit hard to unlatch at the very end of its swing. Not a huge deal, but when it snaps back, it catches you a bit off-guard and I've pinched my hands a couple times, since you're trying to hold the blade on while rotating the latch. It would be nice if the quick-release were magnetic to hold the blade, thus leaving you both hands to hold the tool and latch. The other improvement, and I've found this across several Einhell tools, is that they could improve sliding buttons and switches. They are just kind of sloppy and don't have firm engagement points. This sometimes causes you to slightly miss that critical point where the tool turns off or on. Since there's no saftey lock on this tool, I actually once turned it on by accident with a slight mis-tap to the power switch. I would like it to have a more firm click at a clearly defined point between off and on. Currently, that point is a bit sloppy. Otherwise, the ergonomics and material quality is very good. I'd say it sits somewhere between something like a Black & Decker and a Dewalt. Basically, it's better than the cheap stuff, but not necessarily job-site or contractor grade. The plastic is good quality, and the grips are good. Everything feels heavy and well made...except for the power switch and to some degree the quick-release lever. But for me, just a normal house-owner that uses this for weekend projects, it's a great choice that's affordable yet sturdy and powerful. Given that Einhell tools are distributed in the USA by SunJoe/SnowJoe, I think this fits well with their other products - a bit of a step up above the cheaper stuff you find, but more affordable than professional level tools. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I love to get any new cordless tools, because I don’t like being restricted to the length of a cord. With cordless tools you have unlimited freedom of movement, which is one reason I think this multi-function tool by Einhell is great for renovation projects. Plus, Einhell tools are an exceptionally crafted line of tools made in Germany, that up until now were pretty much only available in Europe, but now thanks to Amazon it’s available to shoppers almost everywhere and I was excited to get one to Review. It’s part of the Power X-Change family, that allows users the advantage of using some of the top lithium-ion technology that Europe is known for, not just on this Varrito tool but all the other Power X-Change line as well. It came with a decent selection of attachments; a scraper, a plunge-cut saw blade to use on wood and plastic, a segment saw blade for wood, plastic and soft metal, a BIM plunge-cut saw blade for metal, diamond segment blade for Tile joints, a Triangular sanding plate, plus a bunch of sandpaper to get you started. These can all be changed out quickly and easily with a 12-pin magnetic quick-release tool holder, which is my favorite feature because no more trying to figure out where you put that chuck or Allen wrench etc. My second favorite feature is the ability to adjust the multi-sander speed. The one we had before didn’t have this function, only on/off. But, this allows you to adjust from a range of 22,000 to 40,000 vibrations so you can be more precise and detail orientated. My wife’s favorite feature is actually the way they designed it ergonomically. Her Carpal Tunnel doesn’t always allow her to use some tools like this because of the pain it would cause her. But, they equipped the battery holder so it keeps the battery vibration-decoupled from the tool. The grip is good and isn’t a hard plastic, but more of a comfortable rubber feel. Also, she can always turn the vibration speed down if needed, providing her the relief she needs to operate it over a period of time. Neither of us found anything in particular that we felt was a negative feature to report, everything seems to be very durable and we were able to use it to successfully scrape, sand, and even do a little grinding all with very little effort. It lived up to my expectations and i’m very happy with it! Finally, I want to emphasize that this particular item was provided to me at no cost through Amazon Vine.
