Is is the egg carton stye foam mattress with the cone-shaped projections. It is an OK bed. Very light weight and easy to move about which is what I wanted. This is however, not a true ortho bed with dense memory foam. They are much more expensive and the beds weight three times what this one does. Does it provide more comfort for my senior dog over sleeping on the carpet? Yes, absolutely. But for serious osteoarthritis conditions this bed might not provide the support, softness and relief of sore joints that more expensive beds might. I have a 52 lbs dog and should have purchased the large versus the XL. Cover washes and dry nicely. It takes two people to get the cover back on. ... show more

I bought this bed for my 16 year old dog. Her hips are bad and it hard for her to climb. She also has “accidents”. I wanted something she could access easily but with a removable cover for cleaning. This bed is perfect for our needs.

The bed is as advertised, however the foam is shipped folded in half and rolled up, so you will want to give it ample time to expand/rise. I am disappointed that the foam insert did not come with a waterproof covering material, like other dog beds I have ordered in the past. The mattress arrives folded up in a box and it takes about a day for the center crease to disappear. My senior German Shepherd was a little hesitant to lay on it at first, but now likes it!!
