  • Lasted 3 months.
Update: It worked for 90 days. The codes came back in the middle of a trip out of town. I purchased a part from Advance Auto with a lifetime replacement for about twice the price. I'm sure some portion of these work just fine for the long term, but if you need your vehicle on a daily basis, I'd recommend getting something local with lifetime returns. My 1997 Ford F150 with the 4.6L engine was throwing (P0402) EGR Flow Excessive and (P0401) EGR Flow Insufficient codes. I tested the EGR valve itself with Forscan which is a free software tool for Ford Vehicles. The EGR Valve was working perfectly. I also tested for vacuum leaks. Everything pointed to a faulty DPFS sensor. The original part was metal and it looked like it was the original unit. Even the Ford replacement units are plastic now. The only functional difference between the units is the location of the hoses. One is directly in front of the other in the OEM part. In the new part, they were side by side. You can see the original arrangement in the attached photo. This means that reinstalling the hoses is a bit more difficult. I'd recommend removing them with a hook tool so that you can break the carbon buildup away from the hose. If you don't you run a very high risk of breaking the hose. I've driven the truck for about 100 miles and the codes haven't reappeared. I'll update the review if there is failure of the part. ... show more

  • Don't Buy the Aftermarket Sensors
This is the Ford OEM DPFE sensor. It has the Ford name on the back. It costs twice as much or more than the many aftermarket ones on Amazon but it is necessary. I bought two of them in the past year and both failed. My 97 F150 started running EGR excess trouble code (402 I believe) and I thought it couldn't be the sensor since it was basically new. But it was the aftermarket sensor. Many folks have complained that the non-OEMs fail quickly, and they do. They have no writing on the back of the sensor. I don't know why they fail. This one has cleared up my code issues nicely. ... show more

  • quite working quickly after install but the customer service was great.
Hubby bought this to fix his Ford ranger and it worked for a couple of days but then his engine light came back on. We figured it was just a defective one off part because the replacement we got cleared up the problem. I will say the company has great customer service and were more than happy to work with us. ... show more
