  • You can charge it while you're using it! Pure sine output!
Style: 400W Nexus Power Inverter(NO BATTERY/CHA...
Something the big 2000 watt Nexus needs is the ability to charge the batteries while you're using the inverter. This PAD5000 can be charged through the USB-C port while the inverter is powered on! They really need to advertise this because it's a very desirable feature. This way I can power a car fridge while it's being charged by the 12V power outlet (through a 12V to USB-C PD adapter) so that when I turn the car off, the fridge can run off the battery. Other things to note. The LED light has two power levels. It still functions if the inverter has overloaded, and so do the two USB ports and USB-C charging. It draws 48W from my 45W charger and 86W from my 87W charger, so that is good that it can charge at the higher USB PD rates. It has a built-in multi-speed fan that gets a little loud at full output but I'm glad it's there to keep it cool. I'm charging it at 86W, and the fan is running quietly but audible. It doesn't have any rubber feet, so it's going to get scratched up. Another huge improvement over the smaller Nexus is that this outputs a pure sine wave. You never want to use a modified sine wave with pretty much anything these days. I'm also glad it's so much smaller than the monstrosity the larger Nexus is. There is absolutely no reason for it to be that big. I have a 48V pure sine inverter that's the size of a small car amplifier, so I'm sure they can make it smaller. A strange behavior that I noticed is that if you overload it, you can't reset it until you unplug the USB-C charger from the USB-C port. Holding down the power button doesn't do anything until that's unplugged. I would have expected to be able to reset it by simply holding down the power button for a second. Wish list: I wish there was a way to parallel multiple units together for increased runtime and/or capacity. I know I can easily wire more batteries in parallel though if I want to because I did that on my 2000W Nexus so that I could power my window AC all night for camping. I used my eBike's 52V batteries (because Ego batteries are 52V batteries - 14 cells in series). The other reviewer is right in saying that having a power button for the inverter would be nice because sometimes you only need USB power. Shutting off the inverter could save a few watts, though in practice this isn't really significant unless you need to power a low-power device for days at a time. It would be cool if you could use it like a computer UPS, which you can but the problem is that the battery would always be fully charged, and lithium ion batteries never like to be stored fully charged. If you don't already know, the best way to store lithium batteries is at around 40%. If you store them fully charged, you'll quickly find that they won't last longer than a few years, even with their self-discharging feature. It's best to not leave them fully charged for any significant amount of time to reduce permanent degradation of the cells. And speaking of that, it would be cool if you could tell it to stop charging the battery at a certain charge level or voltage, for example 40% for storage or 80% for best life or any percent I choose. Imagine not having to replace a UPS battery for 10-20 years. And this feature should be added to all Ego chargers so that I don't have to manually discharge all my Ego batteries. It's such a waste of time. And speaking of UPSs, it would be nice to have an AC input jack on the unit so that it can be plugged directly into the wall for charging or pass-through charging. Anyhow, I really like it, and I'm sure it'll sell like hotcakes. Good job Ego! ... show more

  • For the EGO fan!
Style: 3000W Nexus PowerStation (NO BATTERY/CHA...
This EGO Power+ power station is getting what I consider a lot of unfair criticism in the customer review section. Yes, if you have no other EGO+ product and no other need for EGO batteries there are cheaper power station solutions out there. But also Yes, if you already own multiple EGO Power+ products, especially those that came with the 5 Ah or greater batteries this is a very logical thing to purchase for short-term portable/backup power needs. Currently I own a 7.5 Ah, two 5 Ah, and two 2.5 Ah batteries and I not only like that I can now use those batteries for backup needs but also that I have a single place I can charge/store the batteries through the years. Some of the criticism that this isn't a fast charger I think is unfair as it's not like you still don't have your fast chargers that came with the original products available to you when in need to charge quickly. This power station is sits well on a table we have in our utility room. For long-term power outages I still plan to utilize my Honda gas inverter but you can't bring that into the house like you can this power station. My only criticism is that the EGO app has issues. Partly, the app doesn't seem fully compatible with newer phones and newer versions of Android. It doesn't work well on my Pixel 6. I could get the app work on an Android tablet but only via bluetooth and not WiFi. Then again, the power station can work without an app and I find that I rarely look at the app anyway. However, because of the app frustrations even me as an EGO fan couldn't give this power station a perfect rating. ... show more

  • powers whatever you have
Style: 150W Nexus Power Inverter(NO BATTERY/CHA...
I am using this with the 4 Ah battery to power my secondary portable 18" screen and if need by my laptop simultaneously. Plenty of power for both. Well marked as to which port is for what. Fairly light weight and compact. Very easy to operate. Nice to have the carrying handle too.

  • Good product with some design flaws
Style: 400W Nexus Power Inverter(NO BATTERY/CHA...
This product has a very good feature “pass through “ advantage whereby you can actually charge the battery WHILE USING the battery. It also has the design flaw of a handle that can damage the cable inputs or cables. The lamp part of the inverter is on a side that could be used to illuminate the surroundings but is also a side that would be convenient to use as the base of the inverter and battery assembly. The battery level indicator is not intuitive or actually a indicator at all from what I can gather. If I have to read a manual to understand how a proprietary battery indicator works then it is not an indicator at all or at the very least not at all intuitive. I like that it takes USB-C for the input and I love that it has a light at all. I like that it has a fan for thermal management. I wish it had a 12v DC output for linking a string of these together for additional wattage. Overall I give this unit a four out of five stars. I would buy this again and I would suggest it to a friend with a list of pros and cons as well as features and benefits. I sincerely hope this helps. ... show more

This is coming from a Dewalt guy who has plenty of Dewalt items and batteries. I wanted to have something to serve as a backup or be a portable power station for on the go needs. I made the recent switch to the Ego ecosystem and haven't looked back. Great use of the spare batteries laying around and a great way to charge as needed as well. Would recommend. ... show more
