I recently purchased the EGO Nexus Power Station after doing some critical research of portable gas (gasoline/propane) generators and battery powered inverters. The Power Station was a perfect fit for my particular situation. Storm related power outages of up to 24 hours are a reality in Hawaii, more an inconvenience than life threatening, altho we do have tsunamis and hurricanes from time to time. The Power Station can be safely used inside my home, none of the dangerous fumes that gas generators produce. It is quiet, even when the fans kicks in to help keep the system cool, unlike the loud gas motors of generators. It is super easy to use, just a push of a button and it’s ready to power, no hard pulling of a starter cord. No need to worry about gas, oil, spark plugs, just snap in the batteries, quick, clean and easy. I purchased 2 EGO 7.5 amp batteries to compliment the stock I already have to provide added emergency power. I tested the Power Station with just the two 7.5s and powered my 25 cubic inch fridge for over 4 hours using a little more than 25% of the available power of the batteries (Fridge compressor turned on 2 times). I also tested the portability of the Power Station, running a vacuum cleaner to clean out my car and powering a multitool to fix a broken sprinkler pipe outside my fence line. I also vacuumed the inside of my house and ran my computer for about an hour. Together, the fridge, vacuum, multitool and computer used around 50% of the available power of the 2 batteries. The Power Station w/ the 2 batteries weighed in at around 45 lbs. With its carry handles it was light enough for me to carry around the yard/house with no problems. The downside of the Power Station is charging the batteries during a blackout. But GOOD NEWS! EGO will be selling a solar charging adaptor later this month for around $150. The recommended solar panels for this charger sell for less than $100 on Amazon. This is a must have, must buy option for me! ... show more

Let me start by saying I own tons of ego products and I’m a fan of the brand in general. This power station does deliver power as intended but has some drawbacks. 1. The inability to solar charge without buying an adapter is unacceptable when almost every other station has it at this point 2. If you only have smaller batteries to attach the station is very expensive on its on to not have a large amount of power 3. The cost for station alone is very high considering most stations already come with a built in battery. It would have been cool to see ego give this thing an internal battery with the ability to add the additional batteries to it. Overall it is a cool product and makes use of the existing batteries you may already have but would not be worth it if you are not totally invested in the ego line up already. ... show more

We purchase the package that included 2 7.5 amp your batteries. We added 2 5.0 amp hour batteries used with our other EGO power tools for a total of 25 amp hours of power. It is our back-up for use in short power outages. This will allow us to run a lamp, small heater (or fan) and intermittently power our refrigerator and upright freezer. Our future plans are to add 2 10 amp hour batteries and solar panels to take us through longer outages. ... show more

I bought the unit in 2020. I used in when we had a power outage about 3 to 4 time a year. It worked fine for the first 3 years and then started acting up. At first the batteries would run out of power quickly and the 5 indicators on top would turn red very quickly. Then the unit itself started turning off by itself and the batteries drained quickly. I called customer service but they said the battery warranty only lasted for 3 years. They could not do anything else for me. These batteries are very expensive. I now have decided to by a duel fuel regular generator. This expensive unit was a waste of money. I do not recommend it. ... show more

Just a thought on ego tools in general . Hope thats ok. I got the line trimmer to start with. Love it . Since then I think I've gotten everything they make , except for the lawnmower . And so far it all works great . So powerful ; it takes a little bit to get use to it . I'm glad they have the back pack link thing . Like Buck Rogers or something , ; but the tools get a little heavy , I'd hate to have to swing those tools around with one of the big batteries on the tool . I'm not in shape like before retirement. I have a couple of the 7.5 Ah , a couple 5.0 , and 1 2.5 batteries , and I could run any of the tools for days probably , with that much juice . My favorite has to be th blower . Not the backpack blower ,but the biggest regular leaf blower they make . The coolest yard tool I've ever used . Use it for everything . Thats enough . I hope it helps . ego tools . As I have other EGO products that came with EGO batteries, purchasing just the Unit without batteries made sense. Perfect for camping and as an additional power source beyond a small gas powered generator that's powering Water Pump, Furnace, Freezer, and Fridge. No 10mah version available. 5mah suck. Takes forever to charge battery. Battery loose need lock-in. Ego+ way overpriced. I couldn't even get the darn thing charged before I had to use it and it still charging 5hr later and battery had 3bar each. Zzz zzz. Haven't tried solar charge yet. Not stoked
