It appeared that this first release of product was Flawed…heavily flawed. I bought one of these to have on hand because we have weekly power outages. Initially I was impressed and charged it right up. Stored it for a week and it is dead to 0. No charge, no juice, nothing to power anything. The purpose of these is to store power for those emergencies and it failed straight out of the gate. For the price, it should hold a charge for more than 5 days. I am now upset that amazon will not allow returns. The app help feature does not work and customer service doesn't have any advice. I am now removing this device from my home because the behavior is not normal. I want my money back NOW. ****UPDATE**** Customer service pulled through for me and 8 months later are following up with my experience to improve customer satisfaction goals in 2022. I am sure that if you have any problems this year, ecoflow will provide support to the consumer that far exceeds what they did before.

The media could not be loaded. Highly recommend!!! We bought this battery for a road trip from NY to CA as our power source. It did not disappoint! We accidentally left this battery on top of our car and drove on the highway at 70 mph. It tumbled off of the car, we retrieved it, and it's still worked perfectly! This battery charges so fast! You can fully charge it in about an hour in an ac outlet and 3 hours on dc. It's pretty quiet as well! It tells you how many hours of life is remaining for each device plugged in.

Extremely well built and packaging also very impressive. It was easy logging in to my WiFi and it updated itself no problem. I put it on my digital scope and the sine wave is very clean. Voltage output is right at 120 VAC and regulated exactly at 60 Hz. It easily ran my Fein shop vac, belt sander, sawzall, and other lite duty shop tools. Nicely designed with no sharp corners and the multi functionality is very thought out. I rarely do any reviews but this unit deserves it. I got the MAX unit with the extra battery capacity just to have the extra run time. The extra battery integrates perfectly to the bottom of the unit and is solidly attached.

This unit does not hold the charge. In 2 days it has dropped 50%. I have tried to contact the seller but I have had no luck!!

UPDATE 3-2-2022. I've been using the repaired River Max regularly now and it has performed well. I actually bought another unit a few months ago, so obviously I'm happy with these solar generators. UPDATE 9-7-2021. Added 2 stars. After receiving the repaired device, I'm feeling better about the Ecoflow River. They replaced a board inside and it seems ok after using it daily for several weeks. Not sure I'd buy another one though. There's a group on Facebook where a lot of people are reporting problems and having to return their units like I did. Really had high hopes for this company's products. UPDATE 8-18-2021: The display on the 2nd unit (the replacement for the 1st defective unit!) went bezerk & was returned a week ago. I just can't recommend this product to anyone now. A BIG problem is the time it takes to ship back & forth: almost a WEEK each way! And customer support takes a full day for response via email. They received the defective unit Monday & they said it'll take 1 to 2 weeks to check diagnose the problem & fix it, if that's possible. That means a full month without a unit I paid plenty of money for! Not a happy camper!!! I've since ordered a cheaper, different brand just so I'll have backup power. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. UPDATE: Ecoflow replaced the defective unit and I'm very happy with it. Customer Service improved. Charges quickly and quietly with AC and solar panel. Love the display with all the info needed. I've tried using various items (nothing huge) with the River Max and everything works so far. Weight is kind of heavy for a senior citizen, so I'm using a small luggage cart that works perfectly. The app connected easily on my Android phone tablet. But since an app update yesterday, I can't figure out how to change temp display from Centigrade back to Fahrenheit. Hopefully it'll be fixed with another update. In short, I'm very happy with the River Max and would recommend it to friends and family. PREVIOUS:. So disappointed! After researching for a month & a half, I finally ordered the River Max, only to find that it was defective right out of the box! It won't charge, keeps shutting itself off within a few seconds after plugging it in. Tried using USB and AC ports, and they don't work for even a second. Dealing with customer service now about returning the defective unit for a new one that hopefully works! Will update after we see what happens. They claim it'll go through the "warranty" process.

This is an awesome power station. Basically batteries on steroids. Packaging great, instructions could be more in depth for use. They rely on you to download and use the app. Not everyone will be able to do that.. Charged to 100% in 1hr and 15 min. Power is great to run most modern items including my full size fridge. During power outage I ran the fridge for 8 hours and had a little under 20% battery charge left. However it could not run a small electric heater. It Struggled to get about half the wattage it needed to get hot. The heater was older model, cheap and not Energy Star rated. My fridge is newer and Energy Star rated which i took to mean it takes less wattage so that is why it worked so well. It is best to find out how much juice the device you need to power needs to run, then check the output specs on the website. Even with the shortcomings this is great for emergencies. It is expensive, but great.
