First of all I love the charging speed. It takes just about an hour to charge when plugged into the wall. When hooked up to the solar panels it takes about 3 hours. When charging with the car and driving around sightseeing it took about 3-4 hours. Every time we charged it and used it for what we needed it for it worked. Lives up to what it says it will do. We have charged our phones, watches, lanterns, our batteries for our RC cars and even charged the battery for our friends pop up camper. It has made it through our camping trip so far and we have one day left it has served its purpose and has performed in 30+ degree weather can’t wait for our next camping trip. We will be taking wherever we go camping it’s been a game changer. I love the quality, the weight not heavy at all can take anywhere. The performance for the size is beyond all of our expectations. It has lasted this camping trip for 7 days. I couldn’t be happier and for those days that we get bad monsoons and the power goes out we will be able to have light and be able to circulate air as it works well running a box fan. There really is nothing bad to say about this it everything I expected and more. The only thing that they should offer with this product is the charging cord for the solar panels as it has to be purchased separately. I've had this for over a month now and have used it to power a seadoo lift on a dock with no shore power, a 12v refrigerator in a small camper, and to charge phones and various devices. It performed great with zero issues. The recharge rate is impressive and makes it extra handy to take on trips where you might have intermittent access to power. I even bought a XT60 to DC8 connector so I can charge it with my Jackery solar panel that I already have. The handle placement might seem a little awkward but it isn't uncomfortable to carry and it allows the top to be flat so it can be easily tucked away in a camper or on a shelf. I actually like the design better than my Jackery Explorer 240. The only drawback I can think of is that you must remember to shut down the unit if you aren't going to be using it. The battery percentage will drop overnight even with nothing plugged into it if you don't shut it down by holding the power button for a couple seconds. The Jackery isn't like that. A minor complaint, but worth noting. I would buy this again for sure. ... show more

I've owned this unit for a little over a year now and have used it numerous times while out camping in the last year and it has worked flawlessly. It provides power for our computers, monitor/TV, phone charging, camera battery charging and more. We usually have to charge it up every 6 days which is easy while we're on the road and using the cigarette lighter adapter. UPDATE 3-2-2022. I've been using the repaired River Max regularly now and it has performed well. I actually bought another unit a few months ago, so obviously I'm happy with these solar generators. UPDATE 9-7-2021. Added 2 stars. After receiving the repaired device, I'm feeling better about the Ecoflow River. They replaced a board inside and it seems ok after using it daily for several weeks. Not sure I'd buy another one though. There's a group on Facebook where a lot of people are reporting problems and having to return their units like I did. Really had high hopes for this company's products. UPDATE 8-18-2021: The display on the 2nd unit (the replacement for the 1st defective unit!) went bezerk & was returned a week ago. I just can't recommend this product to anyone now. A BIG problem is the time it takes to ship back & forth: almost a WEEK each way! And customer support takes a full day for response via email. They received the defective unit Monday & they said it'll take 1 to 2 weeks to check diagnose the problem & fix it, if that's possible. That means a full month without a unit I paid plenty of money for! Not a happy camper!!! I've since ordered a cheaper, different brand just so I'll have backup power. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. UPDATE: Ecoflow replaced the defective unit and I'm very happy with it. Customer Service improved. Charges quickly and quietly with AC and solar panel. Love the display with all the info needed. I've tried using various items (nothing huge) with the River Max and everything works so far. Weight is kind of heavy for a senior citizen, so I'm using a small luggage cart that works perfectly. The app connected easily on my Android phone tablet. But since an app update yesterday, I can't figure out how to change temp display from Centigrade back to Fahrenheit. Hopefully it'll be fixed with another update. In short, I'm very happy with the River Max and would recommend it to friends and family. PREVIOUS:. So disappointed! After researching for a month & a half, I finally ordered the River Max, only to find that it was defective right out of the box! It won't charge, keeps shutting itself off within a few seconds after plugging it in. Tried using USB and AC ports, and they don't work for even a second. Dealing with customer service now about returning the defective unit for a new one that hopefully works! Will update after we see what happens. This power generator is exactly all the power I need. I can't tell you anything on the high power usage. I haven't used any of the outlets yet. I charged my phone, thats it. I'll be using it when I travel. I'm not traveling in the meantime. But, for describing the unit. It's the perfect size. It's well built. Very easy to use. I will tell you this. The generator came/delivered by itself. The solar panel ships separately. I got the solar panel 3 days later. Yes, I did chat with a customer representative. when I didn't think I was getting the solar panel. Customer service was awesome. The rep. immediately told me what to do with the solar panel issue. I will re-reveiw the generator and the solar panel when the time comes. Oh yeah, I did get a sweet deal. Thank you, ecoflow. ... show more
