I originally purchased the Delta 3 Ultra Plus power station for emergency backup and while trying it out, realized it would make sense to have a little more power reserve just in case. This extra battery fits the bill.Gives me the peace of mind that there will be enough power for a longer period of time. These devices will not last as long as you may like if using a high wattage appliance. Make sure to match up the power station and backup battery with the devices you intend to power.

Extra battery does not have no vents or fan for it to cool off like all the other battery plug-in devices, and keeps making my pro Delta shut off automatically after 2 minutes and I changed all the settings to never shut off

Out of the box, made the connections, and turned the power on. After that my delta 3 ultra plus took control of the 2kwh expansion battery and began charging it. I would’ve preferred a larger battery but I now have enough power for my 10 circuits to last at least 12 hours. It’s nice when products work as advertised.

Ah, the Delta 3 Max Plus! The long-awaited sequel to the Delta 2 Max, a sort of Goldilocks unit that has enough power to run any medium-duty appliance for a day and change, while still being small enough to port around. I have run my Delta 2 Max daily since I got it two years ago. Fantastic machine. When I had the opportunity to test out the Delta 3 Max Plus, I was very intrigued! It has almost the exact same dimensions and weight as the D2M. What new features have they added that would be worth upgrading for? Well, those are questions for the Delta 3 Max Plus, which should result in a "yes" answer. The extra battery is more of a mixed bag, though. It is sleek and sits atop the Delta 3 Max Plus with no problem. It is fairly snug and fits the size profile nicely. It is noticably smaller than the Delta Pro 3, but at this point it doesn't work with that system anyhow. I am very happy that they've moved to the less rigid battery cable. It's not TERRIBLY flexible, but it is a whole lot better than the big, black cord of previous days. The battery and unit itself are very quiet and don't get very hot. This extra battery is a LOT easier to lug around and even less heavy than the Delta2Max extra batteries, so that's a huge win. Another unexpected bonus is that this extra battery can be charged directly with the Ecoflow Smart Generator 3k or 4k, which is great! This means that you can have the Delta 3 Max Plus running on a dedicated load, but charge this extra battery outside where your generator is. Very, very useful (if a little labor intensive). My only complaint about the Smart Extra Battery is that it is not yet compatible with any other Ecoflow product. Not even the Delta Pro 3, which uses the same style cord! I tried it on the Delta Pro 3, Delta 2, and Delta 2 Max using the Smart Generator adapter. They all "read" that a battery is connected, but no charging or power sharing occurs. They are, at this moment, completely incompatible. Meanwhile, the Delta Pro 3 extra battery IS compatible with the Delta 3 Max Plus. That makes it much more versatile in the short and long term. I do expect them to address this in a future update, but for right now- it's a good battery, but it only works for this unit (and with only one battery port, you're better off with the Delta 3 Pro extra battery). Note: They are planning on launching a smart battery connector "hub" in the coming months that should let you connect more than one battery to the D3M+. This device is not here yet, so this battery is quite limited in its use.

Do not order if you have a Delta Max 3. Amazon will not allow a return!!!!

Do not buy this from Amazon as they will not let you return to them and the unit does NOT work with EcoFlowDelta 3 MAX. It doesn’t have a plug for the extra battery.
