A quick, but important note: this is the Delta 3 Ultra (3072Wh) with no battery expansion slots. If you think you may want to add extra battery capacity in the future, look for the silver Delta 3 Ultra Plus. Diving right in, the Delta 3 Ultra (aka D3U) might be the best unit in my EcoFlow collection so far. I have a few first, second, and third-generation Trail, River, and Delta units, and the D3U fits right in. I use my EcoFlow devices to recharge phones, tablets, and Ember mugs, but I knew I wanted a bit more capacity for longer run times. The D3U is now my home office power house. In a typical work day, my setup uses anywhere from 75-200W of power per hour, and the D3U handles it flawlessly. Since I’ve bought my first EcoFlow device, I haven’t had a power outage, but if I did, I’d be able to easily plug in and continue my work without issue. I also use my D3U to charge all of my other EcoFlow devices. I can plug in every unit I have to recharge, and still have ports available for more. It’s wintertime where I live, so solar recharging isn’t optimal right now. However, for the last few days of fall, I was able to connect my D3U to my solar setup and get a decent charge. Once it’s summer again, I’m pretty sure I could run my home office exclusively off of solar and the D3U. How cool is that?! Like my Delta 3, the D3U connects with the EcoFlow mobile app, where you can access additional settings and features to further customize your unit. My favorites are still the remote shut-off and power usage history logs. At 75lbs, the D3U is much heavier than the Delta 3 but still manageable - lift with your legs! The built-in handle and wheels are a breeze to use and the unit moves around with ease. One small critique I have is the button layout on the Delta 3 Ultra is a bit different from other Delta 3 units. Given that the front face and screens look similar, I would have expected the same buttons to be in the same place. It’s not a big deal, but a design change that confuses me when I’m manually turning the ports on and off. Overall, the Delta 3 Ultra is another great addition to the Delta series lineup. Don’t forget to register your unit for warranty, earn some EcoCredits in their rewards program, and *actively read the user manual* to learn how use and maintain your device for many years to come. Until now, all of my power stations have been ultra portable. I purposely chose them because I use them camping and wanted to be sure what I could carry them. After a 12+ hour power outage in my neighborhood, I thought it was time to get something bigger to stay at home. At 3KWh battery capacity and 3600W power output, the DELTA 3 Ultra is a true option for powering devices at home. It can be used to power electric ovens, griddles, microwaves, air fryers and more. And, multiple at the same time. There are four 20A outlets and one 30A outlet that can be used with an RV. Also four USB ports - one of which is USB-A, so you can charge multiple phones, tablets, etc. at once. The 12V/Cigarette lighter port can be used with various DC appliances like refrigerators. Out of the box the power station was at 30% capacity. It took about 90 minutes to fully charge using the all outlet. By default the power station charges at 1600W and there is a switch at the back that must flipped to charge at slower speeds. The app is needed to change the charging speeds. I was able to make breakfast using an 1800W griddle and 1800W smart oven at the same time. After more than a half hour of use, there was still 70% of capacity. Then I was able to power a small space heater for 3 hours until the power station got to 6%. After charging up again, it easily powered the EcoFlow Wave 2 being use as a heater. This Delta 3 Ultra power station weighs over 74 pounds and it is a solid piece of hardware. The built-in wheels and telescoping handle make it a whole lot later to move around. It is easiest to move when it is standing tall. There is a step under the power station that must be stepped on for it to tilt onto the wheels to be moved. Note: this power station is not expandable, so you are maxed out at the 3KWh of capacity. Maximum solar input is 800W.

When you buy a portable power station and solar panels, you expect to be able to power your RV or cabin from battery power after dark, recharge your portable power station and simultaneously power your RV or cabin from solar power during the first hours of the day, and then after the portable power station is charged to 100%, power your RV or cabin exclusively from solar power for the remaining hours of sunshine, saving your battery for nighttime hours, right? Well, that's what I expected from this product. However, after thorough testing I discovered that once the Ecoflow Delta 3 Ultra has reached 100% charge from solar, it shuts off the solar input and any connected AC load gets all of its power from the battery and none from solar. Then, there is very little battery capacity left for the nighttime hours. In other words, solar passthrough mode works and then fails as soon as charge level reaches 100% and solar passthrough does not resume after charge level falls below 100% unless you power it down and start it up again. I reported this to Ecoflow support, and they informed me that the product was designed to operate like this. I don't know the reason why Ecoflow crippled this important feature, but as an electrical engineer with 40 years of experience, I confidently told them that they could restore this capability with a simple firmware fix. If and when they do stop crippling the product, I will update my review and product rating. It is a well-built product with an excellent iPhone app, but this fatal flaw earns it a one-star rating (for now).
