I bought this umbrella back in 2016 and recently one of the ribs broke making one side of the umbrella floppy. I live in New York City so I don't exactly live in a place where it rains often so it's not like I'm putting the umbrella through it's paces. But I feel for an average city dweller this is a fine umbrella for that rainy day that happens every once in a while. This thing costs me about $20 back then and has lasted for approximately 7 years. Definitely well worth the price. One thing I should point out though is this umbrella is certainly not "windproof" in the sense that it will turn inside-out if there's strong enough winds which has happened to me a couple of times. I would say it's more wind resistant than those very cheap umbrellas you see some people sell on the street though.

Arrived fast. Mechanism for open close works as expected for new. Colors were just as expected. It’s nice and wide, enough for my purposes- I haven’t tried to fold it down super small yet as, well, I’m in Seattle, we expect to get wet- this was for our cat on the patio, and the other is for me when she’s out there- and I’m ready to be dry! ;) Great umbrella so far.

I like that the umbrella is small compact but it's not a mini. Very sturdy material & automatic push button to open. CON- it is hard to close. One push will not close it, you have to push hard to force it to close.

I opened the umbrella for the first time yesterday. I did not read the instructions. I pushed the button to open, and it opened with the force of a rocket taking off. Just be aware of speed at which it opens. Then came time to close. By this time I read the directions. Push to close on both ends they said. The umbrella and I did battle to try and make that happen. I pushed, I put the top on the floor pushed some more. You know what happened? Nothing other than I practically sprained my wrist. Day 2. I am thinking of throwing the umbrella away. Hammer I thought, I will try to hammer it shut. I put the umbrella in the close position top on the floor. Handle up. Hammer ready to bring this story to a happy ending. Well what do you know. I gave it a couple of good whacks with my hammer. It worked. Success? I tried it a few more times. It opened and closed without a problem. Except I may need trauma counseling from experience of the initial opening.

I use this umbrella mainly against the rain rather than against the sun. It is very easy to open and close by just pressing a button. A strong wind does not damage it.
