I LOVE taking care of or lawn and we moved into the new house in March. SOD was laid down! I cut it a few times then got into an early AM sprinkler routine (Such PEACE) and have done 2 overseedings/fertilizer treatments. I am loving the results but it needed a final “sumthin” to make sure the sod is healthy! I looked at several aeration options and settled in doing the damn thing myself🙏🏻. This aerator, with the “catcher”, is AWESOME! I spent about 2.5-3hrs walking through my grass (after a lowered cut and edge) aerating it! I figured I pulled close to 1000 plugs. I recently had the opportunity to try out the EEIEER Lawn Aerator Coring Tool as part of the Amazon Vine program, and I'd love to share my insights on this product, which seems to be a reliable companion for garden enthusiasts. To begin with, I must commend the solid construction of this lawn corer. It feels robust in hand, promising durability and a decent lifespan. When I set out to test it on different parts of my yard, I found that it performed reasonably well, especially in areas that were relatively compacted. Unfortunately, my package didn't include the basket which, judging from the product description, seems like a great addition to help collect the soil cores. This was a slight letdown as I was keen on testing out this functionality to potentially make the process less messy. However, I did encounter a hiccup during operation - the cores had a tendency to clog the tines, a problem I feel could be mitigated with a sharper set of tines. While the included cleaning tool helped to an extent, I believe a minor modification to the sharpness of the tines could vastly improve the user experience, making the process smoother and more efficient. Despite this, I found the EEIEER Lawn Aerator to be a decent tool for smaller yard tasks or touching up areas where a large core aerator might not be able to reach. It's not the tool for larger lawns, but it can certainly be a worthy addition to your garden tool set for maintaining a healthy, aerated lawn, especially for localized treatments. In conclusion, if you are dealing with a smaller yard or looking to target specific compacted areas in your lawn, this manual aerator could be a solid choice, with room for a few improvements to enhance its functionality. ... show more

This assembled easily and seems sturdy. It does a good job of aerating, but is slow going. It worked well in our small side yard. Gave hubby a workout!

Assembly was a breeze. The parts fit together well, and the parts are beefy. A few parts like the plastic bolt covers are not needed, in fact one fell off upon initial use. So I plan on taking them off before they get lost in my lawn and jam up possibly my reel mower. As shown in the photos, there is no comparison between my old 2 tine manual aerator. It has served me well, but I tired of the clogged tines and inconsistent results. This new aerator with 3 tines (that are larger in diameter than my old 2 tine aerator) is a vast improvement in function. It pushed into the lawn easily, and the plugs come up into the tray after several jobs into the soil. The tray is the star of this aerator. I throw the plugs out instead of leaving on the lawn, so this itself is a big time saver. I tried the aerator in both recently watered and dry areas of the lawn. No surprise here that the moist soil was easier to pull plugs. But it did a valiant job on the dry area as well. The soft grips in the handle area nice touch, a big improvement over the skinny hard handles in my old aerator. These details were well thought out and add to the overall functionality of the aerator. The included weed puller/plug unclogged tool works great to push it the stubborn plugs that won't come out easily. It's a good idea to clean the tines after each use before the dirt hardens up and jams it up. You can always soak your aerator in a bucket of warm soapy water if that happens. The flat paint black finish looks resilient and hopefully will protect it from rust, wear and tear. Lastly, I like that the handle is longer which will no doubt save me from back pain. My only nitpick is that the top of the tray is just below the step down bar - I can see where this might get bent if I accidentally step down on it. ... show more

Ordered this for my lawn obsessed husband, who kept saying he needed a lawn aerator. It does need some assembly. It comes with everything you need to put it together. Works great for small areas that need aerating. It does feel a bit flimsy at the connection points but it has held up so far.

This aerator was a little hard to put together at one point having only one set of hands, but I was able to get it assembled without help. The tool parts are high quality and I saw no flaws. It took less than 10 minutes to assemble. I have a dry dead yard where I am at and I have tried many times to get grass to grow but have failed repeatedly. The lawn is very compacted, in fact I have used a broadfork at one point to tear up everything that was in it, but after it went right back to being hard and compacted. I have always wondered what an aerator could do for me in this yard. Testing this weekend, will update review with findings. Pricewise I have seen a lot of other namebrand and in-store items that cost $100-120 that are very similar to this one. I believe this is a good price for an aerator as long as it performs well. ... show more
