This was my first pair of hiking boots so I didn't want to splurge yet, and I've been pretty happy with them. I haven't taken them out while it was super wet and rainy so I can't speak to the leaking issues others have had, but they performed very well in mud and mildly wet conditions. I had to return my original pair and get a replacement because there was a hole in it, but since then have had no issues. These shoes work well for my biweekly hikes in the woods and on paved paths. They are lighter weight for summer than my leather hiking boots. They have tread and feel supportive of my ankles. They are a little on the wide side but I can lace them tighter, or wear a thicker sock.

The stitching was not perfect - The inside cushion was exposed (see picture) I expect better for this brand. Even though the shoe was new, I didn't like that it looks poorly made so I returned. For the price, it is okay.

You can tell that these are cheaply made. I return them because they were very stiff. I would have rather spent more money for good quality shoes. I ended up getting another brand, and it worked out perfectly. I would stray away from these, even as a beginner hiker like myself.
