These work just fine but each individual tab comes wrapped in plastic. It can be recycled but that doesn’t mean much and most of these small pieces of plastic will likely end up in the trash. This choice doesn’t align with their “planet-loving people” statement. I recommend the manufacturer revisit this choice. ... show more

So this product works great. My dishes come out clean for the most part. Some silicone utensils I have come out with a white film but that’s easy to wipe off. The thing I really don’t like is that each tab is individually wrapped in plastic. 1 Star because these work fine. But minus 4 stars due to false advertising. The ‘eco’ stance is a total marketing ploy. Each individual pod is wrapped in plastic. So they tout an environmentally friendly product when every pod contributes polluting plastic wrap into a landfill/soil/waterways. These tiny plastic wrappers are not recyclable. No reason for pods to be individually wrapped. Will not buy again. ... show more

Super bummed to get these "eco" friendly dishwasher tablets to discover they are all individually wrapped in plastic. You have to unwrap each one and put it in the washer. And, if you're doing dishes and your hands are wet, they are incredibly hard to unwrap. :(

I agree with the other reviews - I wish this weren’t wrapped in plastic. Though I can imagine what would happen if they weren’t, crumbs everywhere, tablets dissolving into a mucky paste in kitchen humidity. I hope they’re able to come up with a better solution, but I don’t want the perfect to be the enemy of the good. This is better than conventional dishwashing tablets. And it works. I had been given a jug of Cascade that I was determined to get through. But it was honestly awful. After a load I was rewatching or at least wiping out minimum 80% of everything. Didn’t matter if I rinsed, or even basically hand washed everything before I loaded, it always came out gross. To the point where I thought it must be my dishwasher. Nope! I just finished putting away my first load cleaned with ecover and I could cry. I had one dish and one spoon that I threw in with the next load (but they had been sitting in the dishwasher for days - I came to dread actually running the machine). That’s it. Amazing. Removed hard water stains caused by my last phosphate free dish detergent!! Always found that to be an issue with dish detergent made without phosphates. I'm lazy and sometimes forgot to rinse my dishes but ecover let's me be the lazy slob I was born to be and still cleans my dishes! Check pictures for comparison! Left cup washed with ecover and right cup washed with my old detergent, it's night and day difference. ... show more

Not a bad product, but the whole point of buying dish detergent in a cardboard box (at least for me) is to reduce the amount of plastic used. However, each of these tablets is individually wrapped in plastic. never again

    • Clean and sparkly dishes!

We mostly cook Indian food, which means that if the dishes are not washed properly then odors can linger on. I only use natural and toxic free product, so won't be able to compare any of the cascade brands etc. I can tell you, amongst method, seventh gen, Eco liquid, 365 market brand - I have tried all of these brands and for our type of food and dishwasher and water (texas hard water with softener at home) this dishwasher detergent stands out! I tried their tabs as well with the citrus scent and actually found the dishes very clean. So, this time for a better deal - I bought the 8 pack of powder. I fill only half the dishwasher detergent in the dispenser and some hydrogen peroxide in the rinse acid. We dishwash in the machine daily. I used to have to use the "tough" and "proscrub" setting with other brands, but is use the "normal" / "eco" mode. My son who is very sensitive to smells/odors comments on how clean the silverware looks while eating his morning cereal and now even helps me unload the dishwasher since it's actually pleasant and most importantly clean. Thankx for making a great product and don't change the recipe! Update 01/04/2020 I purchased the 8 pack back in May 2018 and now in early 2020 I have finished 7.5 boxes with a half box to spare, I estimate it will last another 3 months. I run the dishwasher 1x per day, everyday with 2 tbsp in each load. I don’t use hydrogen peroxide anymore and occasionally fill the rinse side with vinegar. I don’t use any plastic, mostly have glass, mugs, dishes and steel silverware. ... show more
