  • Unique 100 watt portable solar panel.
This review is for the ECO-WORTHY 100 watt portable solar panel. If you have a few 100 watt portable solar panels, you know they fall into a few design categories. This panel breaks that mold. First, they are very light compared to my other 100 watt panels. They have a rubbery feel. There is an obvious wire that goes between the two panels. It looks more robust than other solutions. The kick stand are unique in my experience. They work well in firm ground. I don’t think they would do well in sand or soft ground. The legs have a dedicated slot to hold them which also helps protect the solar panel when stowed. If you don’t like that location, they will fit in the water resistant zipper bag that is attached to the back of one of the panels. I tested the panel in full sun and with clouds. With full sun, I got 79 watts (after the panels warmed up). With lots of clouds, I got 10 to 36 watts depending on how much the sun peaked through the clouds. I did not spend a lot of time fussing over the setups. I angled the panels toward the sun and called it good. Overall, I’m impressed! I hope to see more of this innovation. ... show more

  • Meh - EcoWorthy product
Review for: ECO-WORTHY 100W Portable Solar Panel for Power Station, 18V Foldable Solar Panel Charger Monocrystalline IP65 Waterproof with 8 in 1 Connector Adjustable Kickstand for Outdoor Camping RV Though this panel is very light, the design makes it awkward to store. The mounts stick out from the back of the panels. When folded they stick out on both sides, so the package is not near as flat as my other portable panels. This would make it harder to pack for travel. The sticks for angling the panels up to the sun just snap into the mounts for storage, I can see them falling off and getting lost. Also, the mounts are thin sticks, they just sink right into sand. Panels are very light, a little wind knocked them right over when I was not looking, lost several hours of charge time. Obtained this panel for use with Eco-Worthy 12V/solar charger (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZCXNHDV) which I strongly do NOT recommend. This panel works, but when used with the Eco-Worthy charger, it ONLY charges in direct, strong sunlight. Yes, the panel itself works ok in less light, but the combination does not. I had thought that since it was the same brand that it would work better. I was wrong. I am disappointed in two of the three Eco-Worthy products I own. The 50Ah battery appears to work ok, but charger and this panel are not up to my standards. I will not be obtaining any more Eco-Worthy products, even if offered via Vine program. I would not purchase this panel due to the mount system and how easy it tipped over in a breeze. ... show more

  • Convenient, portable 100W panel
Important disclaimer: I haven't yet thoroughly tested the output of this panel because the weather has been dreary and overcast. I'll update my review at a later date after some more hands-on testing. Initial impressions were good. It was well-enough packaged and cushioned from potential impact during shipment. Packaging requirements for flexible panels like this are much less than for rigid glass panels. I did note that there were two smallish scratches on one of the panels, and a slight indentation in the other. But I do not think this will affect operation, and I do not think it had anything to do with shipping damage. As expected, this flexible panel is far lighter than a rigid panel. It also folds in half and has an integrated handle for carrying. Very easy to toss in the trunk if you want to take it with you while camping. This kit comes with 4 removable rods that attach to the back of the panel and provide a means of setting it on the ground and tilting it toward the sun. There are fixed settings for 30 degrees and 40 degrees. For storage, the rods snap into molded slots on the back of the panels. A couple of the rods were a little hard to push into place without the panels flexing substantially -- which I didn't love. And the other two rods were quite a bit looser in their slots. In fact, one of the rods was loose in the box when I opened it. It would be annoying to lose one, so keep an eye on that. The other accessories, including an MC4 adapter and an Anderson style adapter, along with a variety of DC plugs, are kept in a little zipper pouch attached to the back of one of the panels. This is probably my least favorite part of the whole kit. The pouch attaches to the back of one of the panels with velcro, and it just doesn't seem like a very secure way of doing it. I guess an advantage is that the pouch can be removed and carried separately, but the pouch itself doesn't really feel like it's made of high quality material either. The pouch is just big enough to store not only the adapters, but also the rods — though it is a tight fit. You'll have to figure out if you want to store the rods in the slots on the back of the panels, or try to jam them in the storage pouch. Just as a quick test of functionality, I measured the VOC with my multimeter while the panels were in partial sun through a closed window. I saw between 17.7V and 20V as the intensity of the sun fluctuated. This seemed quite reasonable to me. I didn't measure ISC because I didn't have a convenient way to do so indoors. I would expect/hope that this panel provides somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 watts on a sunny day. That's around what I tend to get on most 100 watt panels that I've tested. When I have a chance to test this on a sunny day, I will update the measurements here. 4/5 stars. This is the first flexible PV panel that I've used. Overall I really do like the portability and the packaging. I see room for improvement with the way the rods are stored, and the storage pouch itself. It would also have been extremely convenient if this had a built in USB charger like some of the smaller rigid portable panels that I own. As far as value goes, it does feel a little bit on the pricey side given that it's close to $100 for a nominal 100 watt panel -- roughly a 60% price premium vs a rigid panel. To be fair, I do expect it to cost more than a rigid glass 100 watt panel, and it does come with some extras like the various adapters. So it's not a terrible value by any means. If you're in the market for a panel like this, I would just keep an eye on the price and grab it when there is a sale. ... show more

  • Outstanding portable solar panel
This 100 watt solar panel is truly portable. It folds in half, is very lightweight, and is incredibly easy to set up. The little rods (which store on the back of the panel) used as a kickstand are made of metal and do a great job keeping the panel at the right angle. It comes with a 3 meter cable (which terminates in a DC5521 connector), and also includes a variety of connection adapters and two other short cables which convert the cable connection to other standard connectors, such as MC4. All of the cables and connectors are easily stored in a mesh bag which can be attached to the back of the panel. I tested this panel with two different charge controllers as well as a couple of small power stations, and it performed perfectly. This is an outstanding portable panel and is a value at the price. ... show more
