Beware went to install the strip and it had no adhesive backing. I am passed the return point but just opened the box now to find out adhesive was missing. Make sure when you first receive item that adhesive is there. I have purchased this item in the past and they work great so I didnt even think to check for this. Due to weather I couldnt install for a month and just found out now.

UPDATE: The seller saw my less than great review and reached out to me to provide a full refund. I didn't even ask for one, so that tells me at least the customer service is top notch and maybe it was just the remote that's bad. I have updated my review from 3 stars to 4 based on customer service. The lights look super cool once on. However, remote does not work and they only stay on for about 3 hours once they come on at dusk. Thinking it might be a setting on the remote (like a timer) but we will never know since damn remote does not work. .and the solar is in full sun. I will keep them as I had to screw in every little tiny screw to get them to stick (the sticky tape is pretty worthless) so too much work has gone into them to return.

I have had these lights for one year now. I placed them around the interior frame of my 8x8 soft top gazebo. One strip was a perfect fit to do all 4 sides of the gazebo frame. I had to use zip ties however to hold the strip up as the sticky backing wasn’t cutting it. I had the solar panel zip tied to the outside front of the gazebo so it would get a good charge from the sunlight. Last spring and summer they were great. The warm yellow light illuminated our patio table enough that we could play cards and games all evening without being obnoxiously bright and attracting bugs. We kept them up all winter once we turned our gazebo into an inclosed heated man cave for my husband to watch football and smoke cigars in. It was expected that the lights wouldn’t stay lit as long during the colder months, as we receive less sun AKA charging time during this time of year as such was the case. (We kept them set to automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn year round) All in all they were 5 stars until this spring when they just stopped working all together. Upon inspection of the solar panel I saw there was an adapter port, I’m assuming to maybe charge the internal solar batteries which I was hoping would solve the problem and make the lights work again . However when we disconnected the cord that connected the panel to the lights, we found the area where the cord attached had gotten wet from the rain or melted snow perhaps. While these are specifically made and advertised for outdoor use they clearly can not handle wetness. At least I’m assuming that’s what caused them to stop working. If not wetness, then they have less than a 12 month life span which also warrants a 2 or less star rating. While these lights are only $20, one could argue a years use is money well spent, however when you factor in having to put them up and take them down each time you need to replace them, I don’t really find them that valuable. I rather pay a bit more for a high quality item that will last me several years.

Like the lights and the solar panel, but don’t like the self adhesive. It markets them as self adhesive, but when I received, in the fine print of instructions it says self adhesive is only temporary and the clips must be used. I bought because I didn’t want to use clips that add nail holes (rot entry points) to a painted exterior wood railing. I installed yesterday using adhesive only and this morning they have fallen down. I cleaned the wood surface with rubbing alcohol and it was dry when I installed. It rained AFTER install. My last set stayed firmly adhered for 3 years till I pulled them down. That brand wasn’t available for repurchase. Both were installed in the same underside of the railing. The remote didn’t seem to work either, but I’m ok with that because I really didn’t want a remote at all. I just want the lights to come on at dusk and stay on till the solar battery depletes. I have string Edison lights on a remote and I didn’t want remote interference.
