  • Works well
I really like this. It’s small and easy to car but is also good at recharging camping gear while camping.

  • Excellent solar panel and powerful power station. LiFePO4 is a great choice for the battery.
This is a great rechargeable battery unit that can do all sorts of things, from powering USB devices, to wall outlet devices, to even car power adapters. The whole unit itself is quite compact and unassuming, coming in at a size of only 8 inches by 8 inches by 6 inches or so. Despite that, it packs a ton of useful features into it, with a lot of straightforward features, and every one of them is described how to use and operate in the manual. The LCD screen is a very nice, displaying all sorts of information about charge level, discharge rate, charge rate, and what features you have on which settings. The buttons are all pretty straightforward and easy to use, especially if you use the manual to reference anything you aren't familiar with. With its LiFePO4 battery, it boasts an impressive 238Wh with a mx peak discharge of 600w, the ability to charge and discharge for many, many times more than a standard battery with no loss of charge (plus long periods of full charge won't damage it), and on top of that, the solar panel it comes with is quite nice, giving you a weather-resistant charging option no matter where you are. The whole unit overall is very well-made: a mix of sturdy, durable, lightweight, and feature-rich that helps it really stand out and more importantly keep your devices charged when out in the great outdoors. It's got a carrying handle so you can easily pick it up and relocate it as needed, and even with all of the optional cords and the solar panel, you've still got a nice little unit that's easy to carry in your car or trailer. The solar panel itself is also very nice. It's made of some kind of hard plastic with glass and wires and all the other components inside that make it work - the point being it's lightweight, easy to use, and feels sturdy and is waterproof enough that you wouldn't have an issue using this in rain as long as you take the proper precautions with the wires. It's folded and easy to unfold, and after testing, it does seem to put out just about 40 watts at 2.1 amps when the sun directly hits it with no clouds, as it states on the specs sheet. It's a really nice feel to it, and I've felt confident using it even when there's a chance of rain and even on damp soil, with no issue. The only downsides I can find are minor. There's no included 'carrying bag', so you'll have to figure out where to store the power station plus all the cords you'll use for it. There's also the fact that the included solar panel is only 40w. Now this isn't a tiny amount of power, but to charge this whole unit, you would take multiple days (over 2) of full, maximum-strength sunlight, with you actively moving the panel and angling it directly towards the sun yourself. Obviously, this would only be a 'last-resort' type of charge situation, but either way, you'd really want multiple panels or a larger panel to charge it with. Overall, I definitely recommend this power bank and solar panel, as long as it matches what you need it for. It would do great as a dedicated unit to power a modern phone or two, or a deep freezer - anything around those needs would be perfect for this. * I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. * I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. * I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. * I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, and everything in between. * If I get multiple of something it's because I regularly use and need both of them. * And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected. ... show more

  • Unusually small for the capacity
This is my third "power keg" - I have a Jackery and a Litheli model as well - and I think EBL's entry into the market definitely is worthy of consideration. Like the others, this offers the ability to charge a device with USB-C PD, classic USB, 12V automotive or AC wall power through an inverter. The form factor is a great balance of capacity and size - you can tuck this in the corner of your home charging as insurance for when you might need it later, and it's easy to carry to a campsite or other off-the-grid scenario. This is the smallest of my three power kegs, which is particularly notable because this one also has the charging AC adapter built in - the others use an external adapter with a round barrel jack, while this one plugs right into the wall with a standard C13 cable. Neat. One downside of the size is that the ports are distributed between the front and back of the unit, but that's not a big deal. The charging outputs work well across the board. I do wish the USB-C PD output could supply 100W instead of 60W to handle large laptops, but that's my only real complaint. The Litheli model I have has a Qi wireless charging pad on top and pop-out mini batteries for phone charging, and that would have been neat to see here too, but it's not a dealbreaker; this model skips niceties like that to keep the overall size smaller, and I respect that. The solar panel is no-nonsense to set up - just unfold and plug it in - and it works well. Set your expectations accordingly: this needs direct sunlight, so you'll be chasing sunbeams to get the most out of it. I was able to get 25W in the Seattle spring sun out of it, and I'm sure it would have been far more effective in Las Vegas. Note that in shade or overcast skies the panel generated less power than it took to operate the display on the battery box, so it actually lost power over time - you'll want to actively manage your charging needs while using this outdoors. If you're mostly interested in keeping small electronics charged in an emergency while camping, I think you'll be really happy with this bundle. If your needs are a little more elaborate or consistent, you might prefer a larger solar panel, and purchasing the power storage box and a larger panel separately may be a better move. ... show more
