I received the kit fast…the kit offers a clean install, no more using speed controller bags’ had a issue with the extension wire for the hall sensor, and the pedal assist sensor, it was a lack of communication and my horrible grammar….I already have 79miles on it, my bike goes 31 to 35…haven’t weighed the bike…but it’s not too heavy, my weight is 134,lb so far it’s very dependable. They send you two torc straps, which is cool. The speed controller is a 30amp speed controller, and my battery is a 48v 17.5AH and a 30amp BMS battery…You don’t need the directions, the wires are color coded….the kit fits my dropout….but I do have E-bike experience….132cm = 5 1/2 inches’ give or take a few centimeters.the hub works good, speed controller works good’ they don’t heat up’ I hear ppl complaining about the display not showing a proper battery percentage…because they either used a 52v battery, or the extension wire for the hull sensor is bad, or the battery doesn’t have Sufficient Amps….your battery’s Continuous current don’t have enough amps’ the battery has to have atleast 30Amps, or it won’t work right. I don’t understand why ppl complain about no directions! But I do have E-bike knowledge….hopefully my review helps some ppl. The company is sending me a replacement pedal assist sensor, and new extension wire for the hall sensor. ... show more

I wish the throttle worked independently from the pedal assist level. I still want to pedal my bike for exercise, but sometimes it would be great to get out in front of traffic fast with the throttle and then continue pedaling manually after that. I wish the throttle were not dependent on the pedal assist level. The throttle will only take you to the high end of the level you’re on, so if you want to zoom out to cross a busy street with the throttle, you have to be in the high pedal assist levels already. The throttle is the throttle, and the PAS is the PAS. Separate them, please! One other gripe is that the control buttons have a cable that is like 6 inches long. So your display goes on the center of the handlebars where the stem is, then you can only mount the control buttons, at best, halfway between the stem and where your handle grip is, which is not where it should go. So now you have to remove your hand from the grip to change pas level. I hate that aspect very much. Otherwise great kit. Motor seems solid as a rock and the rim itself was very very trued when I received it and comes with 12ga spokes. Easy to install. ... show more

The kit itself is great, and performs as described. Other reviewers have complained about the lack of detailed instructions, however, since the manufacturer can't anticipate every type of bike you may be converting, it is understandable. The seller's website contains numerous FAQ's and installation instruction videos. I ran into some hiccups with my particular and the way I was trying to use the kit, but I emailed their tech support, and through very patient back-and-forth communication, I was able to resolve the issue (and the issue was with ME, not with the product)! ... show more

Good product, but instructions provided were difficult to follow, and lacked good definition for the LCD settings. I went to You Tube for some generic info. Its a good idea to call customer service first, I found out. They were great. The 500W is a perfect match, with added power margin, for the tandem bike with two of us aboard. I set the set limiter at 32 kph (20 mph, required limit in New York State) and that keeps the bike speed at the highest level setting within the pedal cadence our legs can handle on top gear. Paired with a Joyisi 36 volt, 12.5 AH battery. I had to replace the stock gear shifters with SRAM MRX Comp 21 spd set, so I could install the kit's brake handles. Having the built-in kill switch functions in the brake handles is critical for safety. The total weight on the tires as shown, is 70 lbs. Front is 33 lbs, rear is 37 lbs. With my wife and I, the total loaded weight is 380 lbs. Initially I had to text the seller through their web page for help with an error 07. They were quick to respond and helpful. The main plug to the motor was not fully inserted. These are very tight. Use good reading glasses. I fine-tuned the control after a few rides. The settings for my S830 LCD controller are set as follows. You will want to experiment with yours for your riding style. These settings work well with my Schwinn Tandem. P01 – Display brightness: 000003 Bright P02 – Km or miles per hour: 000001 Miles P03 – Voltage of battery and motor: 000036 Battery Voltage P04 – Display sleep mode: 000010 Seconds P05 – Pedal Assist levels (PAS): 05 Five levels P06 – Wheel size selection: 26.0 Diameter in inches P07 – Speed measuring magnet: 00100 Default for geared drives P08 – Speed limit: 000032 in KPH, 20 MPH P09 – Zero and Non-Zero Start: 000000 Zero Start P10 – Driving mode: 000002 PAS & Throttle P11 – PAS sensitivity: 000001 Most sensitive, 24 least sensitive P12 – PAS start strength: 000000 0-5, Low to high power P13 – PAS magnet type: 000008 Number of magnets P14 – Current limit of the Controller: 000012 Battery design in amp-hours P16 – Reset Odometer: Up Button, press and hold Update: The first kit I installed started having serious problems at 52 miles. Customer service advised me to replace the motor and send the first kit back. When I received the new kit, I replaced the hub motor and S830 LCD. It is now working correctly. I also noted the new S830 LCD was responding better to the programming codes, and was not showing random text when turning it on. I did not realize the first LCD had a problem as well.
