Description

Eberlestock Operator Pack::The G4 Operator is the ultimate scout/sniper pack. It represents everything that Eberlestock has learned about the needs of the professional military sniper community and is a true go-to-war pack, derived from the lessons learned from our Phantom and Gunslinger products. This great battle-proven pack is the model chosen worldwide by many of the most elite special operations sniper teams, and others who carry multiple weapons. The scabbard folds into the bottom of the pack when not carrying a long gun, and the remaining space is an excellent load bay for things as diverse as laptops, satcom gear, mortar rounds, and PRC-117 class radios. System includes a GSTC Butt Cover for the scabbard, and a pull-out rain cover sized for the full pack. The G4 features two front-loading compartments, which can be used as a combined space if bulkier items are being carried. Other features include multiple exterior pockets, a removable LP1 Fanny-Top go bag, and the Intex II tubular aluminum frame.

  • Not as pictured
First, the Eberlestock pack line is the best I have ever owned and I own three of them. I wanted this pack forever and finally bit the bullet. The only reason I am dropping it down two stars is because Amazon pictured a pack with the bottom support frame for the rifle barrel that is not a feature on this pack. Since I live close to the Eberlestock factory, I am dealing directly with them for customer support, not Amazon. Overall, if that feature is not something that will make or break your buying this and you are looking for the most premier of tactical packs, I highly recommend you get one. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Worthwhile investment!
I wasn't sure if this was worth the high price tag, but based on a lot of rave reviews, I ordered it. I have not been disappointed. You know you can find backpacks as low as $30 on Amazon, but those are worthy of buying for a young child perhaps. If you are a serious backwoods hiker/survivalist, etc. Your pack is your most important investment–so consider it so. The only other packs I have that come close in quality and functionally are 5.11 packs. But they don't make this kind of long-range operator's pack, so I shelled out the bucks for this Eberlestock. I wasn't disappointed. This thing exudes quality: well-padded straps, high-quality zippers, lots of compartments just where you need them. I have only begun to optimize what I pack and where, but this thing is certain to last a long time and be valuable whether for backwoods hiking/camping, or if the SHTF. Don't screw around with one of the most important pieces of survival gear you'll ever buy. Stay away from ultra-cheap Chinese junk, unless you want your pack to fail at the worst possible time. ... show more

  • Excellent 2-3 + day pack.
I have had this thing for a year now, and have taken it on several overnighters in the white mountain wilderness area north of Ruidoso, NM. This thing fits everything I need, and a bit more for a 2 or even three or four nighter if water is available. I carry two of the Source 3 Liter bladders, one in each left and right long outside pouch. My Elite Survival Recon 3 sleeping bag fits in the bottom sleeping bag compartment with plenty of room for and inflatable pillow, pillow case two pairs of socks, a couple of microfiber rags, and thin wool thermal top and bottom. The main compartment has plenty of room for my inflatable mattress (Thermarest Neoair Xtherm xl), Primus backpacking stove, 2 cans of propane, dehydrated food (enough for 3 or 4 days), A collapsible alite camp chair, a 1 quart Nalgene bottle, Fire kit, Sawyer mini water filter with syringe, extra 1 liter bladder, and lots more stuff. One thing though, this thing is ridiculously heavy with all of that, and then when you add six 30rd ar-15 mags (fully loaded), and an ar15 in the rifle scabbard, it probably weighs around 95 pounds! It is extremely durable though, and that is the trade off for sacrificing more pack weight. Well worth the $ in my opinion. ... show more

  • Meh...
Not as handy as I thought it would be. It works. But I feel like it kinda sucks at everything. I can't think of a better way to improve it or I would share. Its not a mission specific / one trick only style of pack. It's trying to do a little bit of everything and it accomplished that. The frame is nice, but not as pictured. Also material not the same quality at before 2012 models. ... show more

  • For when you need everything plus the kitchen sink...and a .338 Lapua
This pack can hold it all. Easily. I'm not military but I have hiked miles in the mountains with this pack while carrying a Barrett MRAD chambered in .338 Lapua on hunting trips. The frame really helps keep the weight evenly distributed across your midsection. Plenty of room for first aid, katadyne water filter, a packable camping pillow, a roll up sleeping mat, a tent, and a few MREs we eat on the trail during hunting/hiking trips and basically everything you need to find everything you need to find. Comes with a waterproof cover that stows in the bottom as well. ... show more

  • Absolutely love this pack
Absolutely love this pack!!!! Adjustable in every way and extremely comfortable. Worth every penny. The shoulder straps are durable and comfortable, chest strap is adjustable in how high or low you like it across the chest, the waist belt is adjustable for how high or low you like it around your waist. Side pockets and sleeves, sides unzip and expands the storage area. The rifle scabbard is easily extendable or put away and is a nice fit for most rifles.. fits everything from a small .22 to a full sized 24" barreled rifle. You can go wrong with this pack. I've had it for about 3 months and have had some weight in it. 60 pounds feels like 30.. I'm a very active hiker and camper and had this pack out every weekend for the last few months.. it's pretty pricey but you won't regret buying this pack.. ... show more

  • G4 Op. pack Review
To start off good pack, shipping was fast this was a bush order for me.I plan on ordering more "EBERLESTOCK". the pack is comfortable with 100LBs,Most of the pack is single stitched with strong thread it had several hanging pieces of thread they melted easely with a lighter. My 26lb 56in rifle fits better barrel up with less movement. The down side is that the cover dose not work well in this configuration and the rain fly dose not cover the barrel as show in some of the pics on various sites. The pack has a lot of pockets for stowage options, great zippers, material is simalar to carhart work wear. The pack is set up so that you can put this pack on without any assistance using the 2 side handles,2-3liter hydros fit well with hanging clips inside side pockets.I plan on gettin scope-barrel cover padded,2-3liter saddle bags, shot gun scabard, and multipack to finish off the setup at this time.More items in the near future as needs arrise.Over all:well worth the investment! ... show more

  • Top of the line.
This pack is heavy duty and full featured. I've read some people complaining about the weight but I've run lighter packs and once I threw in all the ammo and weapon the extra 3 pounds this pack weighs is negligible when you take into account the durability. Plenty of room for a 3 day pack and the internal molle/pals webbing is a nice touch. Mine came with a coyote brown rain cover and the external frame is included unlike the pack in the photos. ... show more
