I began taking an injection for RA that had caused quite a bit of anxiety due to the pain it inflicted. It was suggested to me by a friend that I find lidocaine that I could apply prior. I have seen it used before in a dermatological setting and watched it work miracles. I had hoped to find it in a cream or thicker petroleum base. This is a spray (which it states very clearly in its description). But, I chose it after speaking to a local pharmacist who does prescription compounding... he typically makes a prescription strength containing only 2% lidocaine. This product, which has 5%, is amazing! I applied the spray 30 minutes before, covering the spot on my abdomen with Saran Wrap to help keep it from evaporating or wandering from its desired location. I also removed the injection from the refrigerator 1 hour before the usage time. When I injected the medication, I thought that perhaps I had done something wrong because I hadn’t felt a thing! But, upon inspection I did it perfectly. I can’t imagine going back to having to do without! I’m incredibly grateful

I bought this for a tattoo I was getting. Yes I know its not technically for that, but hey, its recommended for it across the interwebs. Anyway, it definitely works and does what its supposed to do. numbing didn't last as long on me as it normally should though. I applied it 30 minutes before the tattooing started, it lasted a good hour half before we had to reapply. It helped numb the area but I bought it hoping it was going to prevent the swelling on my skin break. It was VERY helpful for the general tattooing.

Used this before epilating the entire groin area. This spray absolutely minimized the pain compared to when I've used an epilator on the groin area without an anesthetic (couldn't finish the job!) or with another brand spray.

It gave relief from pain within minutes of the application. I am using it on the after effects pain from shingles which can be very sharp at times. It doesn't always take all of the pain away but the relief allows you to do some normal activities. I also used it on my knees when they hurt at night from too much activity. The only downside of the product for me is opening the sprayer. It is a push button/rotating device which is very hard for me to open and close with weak fingers and brittle fingernails. I can understand childproof systems but older people are not always strong enough to overcome the childproof device either. All in all, a good product.
