Absolutely a waste of money. We go through a lot of wood, have gas log splitters, more chainsaws than you have shoes, and regularly heat our whole house with our two wood stoves. This broke within 24 hours of use. One glancing blow that struck the circle top and it snapped in 3 places. I love the concept, but the quality is severely lacking.

    • Works ok, gets the job done mostly
You need a very heavy sledgehammer to split hardwood. The unity usually tips over, which is ok but gets old. Would be great if you have somewhere to bolt it down. Also, know you can only split pieces on the small side, as bigger one's both won't fit in the ring, and get stuck in the unit if the log is taller. But if you are ok with those caveats, it's a good solution. ... show more

Yes it will split your firewood but certainly not with ease or efficiency. Requires a lot of power by the user. Cannot recommend this purchase and has certainly not delivered on our expectations. At this price, I would have expected more efficient outcome with this tool.

    • Much safer device than most splitters
Our only complaint has been that the size of the wood cannot be very large at all in order to fit the circular opening. We have split wood delivered and many of the pieces just won't fit. However, this device does an amazing job on those pieces that do fit within the opening. MUCH safer for my 79 year old husband to use. ... show more

I’m a strong man and this didn’t work for me. Maybe I needed a heavier then 3lbs mallet, but you packaged this item with a 3lbs mallet.

    • Perfect fire pit companion
Great tool for my backyard fire pit. With a small hand sledge I can turn a piece of firewood into 4 or 5 perfect kindling pieces. This is not for doing large log splitting jobs. Some pieces of my delivered wood do not fit in the hole. Sharp blade, clean splits - this is a handy tool.
