I thought I was having a charging problem with this item and I wrote the manufacturer about it. They promptly got back to me and offer tech service and/or a repl. It turned out to be my outlet not the product. Impressive customer service and equally impressive product. I use the batteries, so far, in a cordless water pick that was going through alkaline batteries like crazy. These batteries have worked beautifully They last at least twice as long as the alkaline. I will try them in a cordless auto soap dispenser too as soon as current alkaline need to be replaced. They need frequent replacement in this appliance too

Great product and great value! Charger was absolutely as described. Batteries come partially charged and charging them to full capacity took about 3+ hours which is what the manufacturer indicated. You absolutely MUST charge the batteries before using them. The batteries do get a bit warm during charging, but that is 'normal' for NiM-H batteries. If you find one (or more) of the batteries still has a 'red light' after about 4 hours of charging, don't worry. Just take the fully charged ones out and leave the ones with the red light in the charger overnight. They just didn't get pre-charged properly before shipment and will likely be fine if you follow this procedure. Lastly, there are two sets of instructions that come with the charger. READ THEM BOTH! One is a 'quick setup' set of instructions and the other is long term and safety set about what to do and what not to do with the charger. Some things you might think should be 'fine' are not...like charging AA and AAA batteries together. This is a definite 'no-no'. These batteries have different charging profiles and charging them together will either cause battery degradation, damage or both and could damage the charger. Otherwise the product is easy to use and does a great job!

It came in timely manner. As recommended I promptly placed all the batteries in the charger to get fully charged. I'm very happy with this purchase. With kids who have remote controls for gaming, this is a must. We were flying through batteries. This will save us so much money to simply recharge so the remotes and occulus hand things can charge back up. I appreciate the seller for reaching out to make sure I knew to fully charge before using. Great customer service that's rare to find now a days.

Pretty good deal for 8 rechargeables and a charger. I was just looking for a charger alone and couldn't pass this one up. Time will tell as far as longevity (how many times they can be charged-used-recharged), but these batteries seem to last a long time between charges. The one single complaint I have so far is that this charger has very bright LED's, one for each battery slot on the outside of the charging unit - red when charging, green when charged or vacant. I can barely have this thing plugged in to charge my batteries overnight in my bedroom because it lights up my entire room. I felt like I was getting a tan. I modified it with some black electrical tape but the light still comes through from underneath the batteries themselves. But that at least helped it enough to where I can conceal it somewhere and not be disturbed while I'm sleeping. It's worth it, because the battery life between charges is the best I've seen in this class of rechargeable. No drop-off in current as they get low has been noticeable so far. I use these in radio communications. One of the units is a 2-meter hand-held transceiver. With the old batteries the unit was kind of heavy at times. Not so much with this set. The transmit section of that radio is fairly demanding amperage-wise, especially on high-power. It loves these batteries. The lights on the radio don't dim now while I'm transmitting like they did with the old ones. This radio destroyed a set of four Duracell Golds in about 3 months, 100 or so charges maybe. It might have been the fault of the unit's on-board charger, however, so I'm not going to use that charger. Hence the need for this charger. The four I put in my shortwave tuner 3 weeks ago haven't needed to be recharged again yet. It doesn't have a transmitter on it, but the old batteries would have needed to be recharged again at least twice by now.

PowerOwl is a recent discovery for me. I've used rechargeable AA and AAA batteries for years, and had previously purchased chargers from one of the leading battery manufacturers. After numerous failures of those chargers, false detection of failed batteries, etc, I began looking for an alternative. I am VERY impressed by this product. This is exactly what a charger should be. I've loaded all 8 bays simultaneously with different brands of rechargeable batteries of various ages and differing levels of charge, and I can tell that the independent charging circuits are very well-designed. It's great to observe differing charge times, and when an older battery is finally flagged as failed via the red LED, I have confidence that it's indeed reached EOL. I use a lot of string lights and battery operated candles at home for decoration and rechargeable batteries are an absolute MUST HAVE! It isn't much but the fewer batteries I need to recycle the better. These last a pretty decent while and charge fairly quickly.
