  • 2 years later, no issues with these. Suprised by bad reviews
Color: Blue
I bought my glass containers 2 years ago and only came back to make sure they were freezer safe. And also was considering buying another set or buying the same brand in larger sizes so I started reading reviews. The plastic seal came off as soon as got in the mail: They are designed to come off so you can effectively clean them and under them. This is actually a benefit. I have had some where the silicone seal was made on the glass. It was not a benefit. All you do it put them back on. I remove the seal everytime I wash them. No issues.I've actually seen mold on seals that do not remove as they locked in moisture in between glass and seal which resulted in needing to chunk as I couldn't remove all the mold. Plastic ring shrank, wore out, etc: It specifically says the lid and sealant is not designed for high heat. Description specifically says it is not. It can be washed in dishwasher but advises to hand wash as much as possible. In other words, top rack ONLY in the dishwasher and do NOT use high heat drying settings. "The lids are not oven or microwave safe, please remove the lids before heating and cooking food. It's safe to wash the lids in the dishwasher, but high temperatures over a long period of time can deform the silicone sealing strip at the edge of the lid. Please wash the lids by hand as much as possible."quoted from above. I have ran the sealant and lid in dishwasher but only on top rack and on lower heat settings with 0 issues. But I typically try to hand wash them as manufacturer recommends. 2 years and they still seal. Lid won't snap on: My daughter had trouble getting the lid on so I simply showed her how to do it. All you need to do hold with palms on top with hands wrapped around side to bottom, then using almost a rolling action, roll palms to snap sides on. Repeat on other side. I don't know if I expelled well in written form but it is pretty simple. OR you can set on counter, press in middle of lid with one hand while using your other hand to snap one side on. Press in middle again with one hand, snap the closure on the oppossite end. Do same on the remaining flaps.... Also, check your seal. They are designed to come out. If they are not on properly, it can cause issues. Broken glass: I can't speak for the oven as I have not tried using these to bake. However, most glass can not go from one extreme temp to another without shattering so something to keep in mind. They are rather small and I grab my pyrex dishes but I have yet to have one broke. I have children and concrete floors which glass is almost always broke by dropping glass. I would imagine these would break if someone did drop them on the concrete floor. That being said, if shipping and handling was rough with any glass, no matter how well packaged they are, glass breaks. That all being said, I recommend it. They are great for smaller portions for meals, leftovers, cut veggies, etc. They are super easy to clean. 2 years and not broken (but I would expect them to break if I dropped on concrete floor. My kids have seriously dropped plastic cups, the thick plastic cups, and shattered them on our floor), they are dishwasher safe as long as you follow the directions, lids and seals can NOT withstand high heat, and the seals/lids are still good after 2 years. I would say as long as they are not dropped, they are durable. That all being said, if you have kids using them or even butter fingers, you may want to consider a nonglass option. Stainless steel (as long as you don't plan on microwaving in the stainless steel), silicone bags, may be a better choice. My only complaint would be sometimes I wish I had a size larger than these but no.t as big as the pyrex (8x8 and 9x13) dishes I have. However, that's not manufacturer related issue. I just need diff sizes for diff purposes. ... show more

  • Be careful
Color: Blue
Sometimes the containers become difficult to close and break off glass without your knowledge. I was just biting into a piece of my chili and had a glass shard in it from the container. I’m throwing the rest away.

  • Really love this product
Color: Blue
I have been using these glass containers since last summer and have advocated for people in my personal life to buy a set of them. I literally was thinking about how much I've appreciated having these and decided to write a review randomly tonight, almost a year after buying them lol. The pros for these dishes (or any glass containers) when compared to plastic are great: -these are water tight, and the lids stay on. I've only had an issue with the smaller rectangular dishes with the lids, but flexing the tabs inwards for a few seconds before putting the lid on helped mitigate this and haven't really had issues since. -theyre easy to clean. I don't have a dishwasher, so I wash everything by hand, but most things don't tend to stick to the glass, and I found them easier to clean than most plastic containers. You can also take out/easily put back in the rubber gasket in the lid for better cleaning. -they don't stain or hold odors. Ever put leftover spaghetti in a Tupperware and it forever looks like it held leftover spaghetti in it? Not a problem for these. I also accidentally left some chicken soup in one of them over winter break (over a month, suffice to say it went bad) and was worried that it may still hold the smell, but after rinsing it out the smell was nearly gone! Just a bit of dish soap got it out for good. -microwave friendly. These obviously won't melt or warp in the microwave, and you don't have to worry about microplastics leaching into your food. Incredible. -thick quality glass that withstands some drops into the sink. I wouldn't recommend leaving them close to the edge of the counter of course (they might be heavy enough to break a toe or bruise your foot too) but a drop of about a foot into the sink hasn't hurt mine at all. -the amount of dishware has been about perfect for the amount of food I'm making regularly. I tend to make pretty large batches of food, but am usually able to split it into the two large rectangular dishes without much trouble. I don't use the smallest squares very often, but they are a great size for an on the go serving of yogurt, granola, or apple slices. I really think these are a great product, but there might be some cons depending on your lifestyle. -not the tightest packing/storage ability. If you don't have much room in your cabinet, there are probably better stacking dishes somewhere else. These have the three small square dishes, and those can fit inside the large square or large rectangular dish (including the lid, which impresses me), but besides that they don't really stack inside one another. I usually just put the lids on after they're dry, and stack them normally in my cupboard. The set altogether takes up less than a square foot of space for me, but stackable Tupperware may be more space convenient for you. -they are still glass, so they can shatter. Like I said, I try avoid leaving them on counter edges and haven't had one break on me yet- but if you have kids or pets or can't grip things very well, lighter plastic may be a better choice for you. Overall, the price for the quality of these containers has been more than worth it for me. I highly advocate for investing in some glass food containers. These are the only set that I've tried and they've worked very well for me. There might be better ones out there, but consider this my vote of satisfaction. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
Color: Blue
I have used these in the fridge, microwave and in the oven without issue. I have not placed one in the freezer as of yet. Pros: They are sturdy and easy to clean. Air tight and leak proof. The rubber seal is easy to remove. They are easy to clean. Minimal Plastic Easy to open and close: I have severe arthritis in my hands that limits my dexterity so I initially hesitated to buy these containers. That was because quite a few reviews stated the lids are difficult to close. I took a gamble on the reviewer that stated that as long as you line the lids up correctly this is not an issue. That gamble payed off. It is easy to tell when the lid is lined up you can feel it slide into place. The large latches on the side actually make them remarkably easy to open and close despite my arthritis. I just have to take a second to assure they are lined up before attempting to snap down the sides. Potential Con: While this was not an issue for me those looking to store leftovers for a larger family unit may find them on the small side. The sizes of the containers are more geared towards singles, a couple, or a couple with a small child. ... show more

  • Good glass but unfit lids
Color: Blue
After I washed them, the lid sides don’t close completely and even caused me pain in my shoulders because I have to squeeze a lot with both hands to close them although I am athletic and strong. The glass quality is good. There are too many tiny containers! I wish the bigger ones are more than the tiny ones. ... show more
