The very first thing I did when I bought my new 5D MKiii is search for covers. It's amazing how few are out on the market. I can't believe how few people want to protect their super expensive equipment. But they buy a new phone? Must have a cover. Crazy logic. I am a professional by trade and use my camera daily. I shoot vertical and horizontal; I use a tripod and an attached flash. I have no issues using any of those things with this case. The case itself feels secure and offers enough protection to keep your camera safe from bumps and scrapes. I wouldn't consider it drop proof. I haven't ever dropped a camera but I guess this would at least offer a tiny bit of extra hope. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this to anybody wanting to protect their investment. There is no downside that I have discovered yet. If I find anything I'll update my review. ... show more

It works great but is a little gummy to the touch. I was used to my 5D grips, so this threw me off for a little while. The safety case is a price I'm willing to pay to save my camera from the day to day dings and a better shot at surviving a larger impact. Some of the buttons to the left of the screen and upper right are a little tough to push, but I rearranged the key mapping and it works for me much better now. ... show more

Really? Horrible fit. Had hoped that by putting my grip on the bottom I could at least hold in the saggy spots but not only did it not help, my camera couldn't get battery connection. Returning for sure.
