I live in upstate NY- cold winters I like my temp at 65 and sleep hot. At 2.6 lbs I still too feel warm during hot summer nights. So this one at 1.25 lbs/ 20 oz fill I believe will be perfect for the summer. I love sleeping under cozy down; It's my non-negotiable. My search was extensive. Believe me this is the one for me! If you want heavier I would go with the all season. There are many comforters on Amazon so take a look; I don't think you will top this one. This blanket is stitched intelligently to prevent down/feather leakage. And its generous size works well on our queen size bed. This blanket arrives in its own storage bag. I searched high and low for the right duvet as I am not a fan of comforters. The main points that I was looking out for were: 1. DOWN - Down fill should be the higher percentage ratio to feathers otherwise the feathers start to shed and can be scratchy. 2. FLUFFY & LIGHT - Something that fluffed up enough but not too cozy as I live in South Texas which can get extremely hot. 3. WASHABLE - A duvet that I could wash in my machine. 4. COTTON - Natural fibers nothing synthetic. I was initially worried that this would be flat. After a few days it has fluffed up and oh my I am in comfort heaven. This duvet is absolutely light, so it's easy to make the bed and it doesn't feel too hot lying underneath it. I love the feature of the loops so that you can tie it to your duvet cover to save the cover shifting around. Yes I may not be able to use this in the summer months but right now its perfect for me, even my husband thinks its comfortable and he tends to get very hot at night. This is a little pricier than an alternative duvet but well worth the money you will not be disappointed and I highly recommend this product. ... show more

    • An Exceptionally Well-Made Down Blanket

I bought this down blanket for my camping trailer, but it's so nice I just might keep it for my house! I searched high and low online for the perfect down blanket, but found so many of them to be low quality. Most had only 300 threads per inch in the cover and used just a percentage of goose down, the rest feathers, which of course made the major complaints be feather leakage and too "noisy" - crinkly sounds from the feathers. I didn't want a microfiber cover, which isn't breathable like 100% cotton. I also found that most of the down blankets are bound with a 2" satin binding, which I really didn't like because sure enough, over time they fray and come off. All that said, when I came across this down blanket I couldn’t believe all the great things about it. First off, it has a 500 thread count and is 100% cotton - no leaking! It has 100% goose down filling, with a 750 fill rate - much higher than other blankets I looked at. Finally, instead of the cheap satin binding, there is double-stitched piping around the edge, making it look very neat. I got my blanket within just a few days of ordering and was so pleased with the high quality fabric, soft feel of it and the generous layer of down. It’s a blanket, not a comforter, and is everything they said it would be. I bought the blue, which exactly matches the picture in their listing. You can buy it knowing just what you’ll be getting. I popped it in the dryer for 30 min on air fluff and it came out perfectly. There is no noticeable odor and the fabric feels crisp and very smooth. Quality duvet insert as pictured. Soft cotton and fluffed up nice after a short no heat tumble in the dryer. Definitely not what I would consider lightweight and sleeps pretty hot. Good for cold weather but not an all season duvet insert.
