Not happy that a damaged box was put in another box and sent to me!! The damage went thru to the saxophone case as well!! Luckily the sax itself was ok!! Not very happy!! I did take pictures of all that was damaged!! A small credit would be appreciated!!

The media could not be loaded. Finally a cheap soprano that plays in tune! (This review is for the STRAIGHT soprano, not the curved one.) I had already owned a cheap soprano that played amazingly, and I was looking for another one to use as a backup and to loan to students. I bought several other cheap sopranos online that played horribly out of tune before I finally found this brand. This soprano looks to be made in the the same factory as the good cheap soprano I have that plays great. I believe both of these good ones are from the Taishan factory. Some of the other cheap horns I tried were as much as 40+ cents out of tune in the upper register (A through C), but this Eastrock/Taishan straight soprano is actually in tune! I might need to buy a third one! See my video for a quick demo.

This is a Bb soprano saxophone kit. The instrument is black with gold floral embossing on the bell. The key mechanisms are metal while the pads are leather. Included in the set are a neck, a mouthpiece with sample reed, a cleaning cloth, a set of gloves, and a zippered case. I really like the look of this curved soprano. It is reminiscent of the big band era saxes of the 1920s. The instrument is fairly light weight, and even the fully packed case is not that heavy. This would make a great instrument for a grade school or middle school beginner, a young person who has to carry their instrument to and from school every day. The pads all seem tight and ready to go and the keys work smoothly. Overall, this is a beautiful instrument to look at, capable of playing beautiful music in the right hands.
