Impressive for what is essentially a kids' toy.
I picked this up on a whim after purchasing a travel cajon that was made by EastRock. That was a gift for my father, but for the few minutes I got to play it, I found it very well made. Only a few weeks later I came across this wave drum also by EastRock. Overlooking the obviously childish cartoon graphics, I have to say that this is almost as well made as the cajon. Of course, being 100% plastic, it's nowhere near as good as more expensive units. But for what is ostensibly a toy, it's works very well. Swirling motions from slow to fast give pretty good effects. It has great volume. One could simply tap it like a snare and get usable sound. If you don't mind looking like you're five years old, this could even work pretty well in a home recording situation. Recommended.
