I take my percussion position seriously so I spent the extra money on a custom made instrument. I even took lessons to add to my value in the band. I don’t think it was a product defect per se, but I was immediately booed off the stage at a gig we were performing at Wheezie’s Bar and Sports Palace. I realize cranked out bikers in their form-fitting leather vests and local rocker patches might not be 100% on board with a guiro solo and poetry reading, but I never expected to be physically removed from the stage and manhandled by these savage biker beasts in their matching outfits and leather paraphernalia. I think next time I’ll buy a wooden guiro. Maybe it was the resin plastic that offended their delicate taste in poetry/guiro fusion. I ended up being spooned by a motorcycle club member named Vinny for the rest of the evening in the motorcycle club’s van while my band mates could be heard playing 80’s rock on the stage that I was torn from. On the plus side, the two plastic sticks that come with the set made excellent chop sticks. They are also amazing at scratching that itch you sometimes get at the base of your brain via your nose cavity. All in all, I’d say this is a decent product.

It's okay, for my liking it is a little too bright the sound. Well, it's made of plastic, not the natural guiro material. I will try putting some cushion foam in the inside, to muff the sound a bit

The only improvement would be to make both sides easy to hold onto while using, one side has two holes for finger and thumb to hold the scraper and the other side only has one finger hole.

The media could not be loaded. My only issue is where the holes are placed. It’s kind of strange to hold. Other than that I’m in love with it it’s very loud and will do great with recording. Also no chance of hearing that crunch and accidentally sitting on it. It won’t break.

Used for Christmas night “noche buena” . I wish the stick for the guiro was less flimsy , but other than that it served its purpose .
