These claves cost a little more but are more than worth the money. First, they are made in the U. S. by a small business that is very attentive to quality. Second, couldn't find anyplace else that did as good a job with demonstrating the sound -- their video shows the difference between the sound of four different tonewoods, and it is significant (that's how I chose Maple). How can you choose with confidence without knowing how the wood sounds? Third and most important, they sound terrific. Great pitch and resonance and good "bounce" if you want a vibration tone.
