My builder didn't install any type of bypass for my pool heater. I had to remove it for repairs and couldn't leave the pool off for a week. These were not hard to install and work fine. This is what builders use. You'll need three...heater in, heater out, and bypass.

Some inspectors may require the valve have a red handle, some of the valves hardware stores sell have blue handles that could present a problem. A red handle makes it easier to locate the valve if you're in a hurry. Good quality valve. Unfortunately, they no longer allow people to comment on a review. I always thought the comments made the reviewing better. It also allows customers to help each other. Sometimes there was better information in the comments than the original review. Recently, I've come across several reviews where someone leaves a bad review for a product.
