Proper copper pipe prep is important for a leak free connection. I removed 2"of existing pipe but still couldn't clear the remaining pipe for install. I had to remove 2 3/16" for the slip valve to clear the opening and slide on. The deburring tool is nice but too big with all the different sizes in one tool. My gas line was in the way and prevented a full 360 of the deburring tool. I had to modify by cutting the 3/4 debur part of the tool off. That gave me the clearance necessary to make a full 360 on the pipes. Once installed, they were leak free and easy to rotate the handle into the most optimal position. ... show more

The SharkBite 3/4" slip ball value, push-to-connect, plumbing valve is fantastic to use, especially in tight, already installed plumbing pipe situations, say between beams or walls. The unique “slip” feature allows you to slide the plumbing pipe (copper, CPVC) into the slip valve and then it allows you to then slide the valve into place on the other side to make a watertight plumbing connection, all within seconds! Installed this to use with a Zooz Titan Z Wave shutoff. Easy install. The worst part was cutting the pipe. If you install this near where the water enters the house you might need to bridge the electrical connection across this fitting. This is to ensure that the pipes in the house are connected to earth ground. I used 4 AWG copper for this. ... show more

Easy to install and longer than a normal valve. Very versatile. I made use of this when installing a taller bathtub where I had to move the faucet up. There was no shut off valve and I wanted to add one. So this valve accomplished 3 things: added the valve, extended the pipe, and made it easy. I could have soldered in a valve and more pipe for less. But sometimes ease of install is worth the extra cost.
