  • Not mosquito proof - They bite through the hammock.
Color: 701 Gray
I just purchased this hammock and spent two nights in it. This hammock is built well and I really really like the design and the pockets for phones on both sides as well as the little clips inside for hanging a light. The straps are very easy to install and it was a great design. I will definitely use this hammock again but... I thought I was being smart by getting the bug net to protect myself from mosquitos. The temperatures outside are pretty high where I was camping so wearing extra layers for protection wasn't really an option. Regardless of that I wore pants and a long sleeve shirt while sleeping and still managed to get likely over 100 mosquito bites all over my back and legs while sleeping. Just because you have a mosquito net doesn't mean the mosquitos cannot bite you through the hammock itself. Maybe try using a pad or sleeping bag inside the hammock to keep them from getting to you through the hammock. ... show more

  • This thing is like the Cadillac of hammocks
Color: 701 Blue
This hammock is awesome. Compact and can fit easily in your backpack for camping, hiking, hunting and other activities. The hammock is super easy to set up. The staps with the different hookups on it gives you a distance of 12 to 20 feet depending on the size of the tree to set up your hammock. Having the bug net is super vital for me and if I don’t need it you can take it off for it to be out of the way. I got the rainfly just so I don’t have to worry about getting caught in the rain. Everything took me less than 10 minuets to set up and it was nice that it comes with everything you need to set up with strings and stakes. This is a great item for a great price. ... show more

  • Clever product, great service
Color: 701 Gray
My first foray into hammock camping brought me to this Easthills Outdoor Jungle Explorer Double Camping Hammock. I went with this mid-priced hammock hoping for the best and I was not disappointed. Set up was quick and easy. The daisy chain suspension system is sturdy and easy to loop around a tree. The straps minimize impact on tree bark as well. Included aluminum carabiners are light in weight and just large enough to be effective. The netting hangs from two included elastic lines. The breathable taffeta fabric is sturdy, soft and pliable, contouring to create a slightly bowed sleep deck. I found it extremely comfortable. The stability of the hammock was remarkable, no matter the occupant’s laying, or sitting, position. The waterproof rain tarp features several loops providing the option for various arrangements. My first night out brought a thunderstorm and subsequent downpour. Happily, the tarp was large enough to sufficiently cover the hammock and keep my pack underneath. The carabiner connection made for a suitable drip line. The entire hammock and gear stayed dry throughout. The interior features two water-repellent hanging pockets for small gear (cellphone, snack bars) and the hanging loops, located in the four corners at the top of the netting, were essential. I ran a length of light line between them to create an unobtrusive, all-around hanger for reading glasses, penlight, and anything lightweight that I’d need access to from within. It’s self-containing stuff sack doubles as an external hanging pocket, great for a paperback, notebook or water bottle. The construction seems sturdy. The seams are triple-stitched. Zippers connecting the netting to the taffeta base were easy to find and operated snag-free. The tight netting keeps the interior bug-free but is airy enough to allow great visibility. It positions itself well-above the hammock creating a roomy interior. No claustrophobia. The business card included with the new the hammock reads “We take customer satisfaction Very Seriously”. When I did have a problem, I took that claim to task, again, hoping for the best. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Easthills team was quick to respond and eager to please. Quite professional. I’d recommend this product. Happy hanging! ... show more

  • Good hammock for the money, has a few quirks.
Color: 701 Blue
I've been having a hard time figuring out how to rate this hammock. I am by no means an expert in camping hammocks, in fact this is the first one I've tried out. So I have nothing to compare it to in terms of durability, ruggedness, etc. I'll just say what I liked about it and what I thought could have been better. The Pros: For a small sum, you get a hammock, bug net, rain fly, straps, and everything you need to get set up and going. So that's a big plus. The height is easy to adjust after you have it set up. A series of loops on the straps provides several positions for the cababiners to clip onto. The bug net keeps the pesky mosquitos and black flies away, and gives you plenty of room to sit up. The hammock contains two pockets to place your cell phone as well as an exterior stuff sack which can be used to store toiletries, flashlights, etc. The rain fly does an okay job of keeping rain off you. Cons: My biggest gripe with this hammock is that it came with almost zero instructions. It took me about an hour to figure out what I was supposed to do. I'm assuming this hammock is targeted for beginners, so it's kind of disappointing that we're left in the dark in regards to setting it up. In terms of comfort, it's hard to say. I did research on how to sleep in a hammock before I purchased this. And I spent a few nights in it and woke up with a headache. I think that for me, the sides may be a little steep, even if I was sleeping at an angle like you're supposed to. But that's just me. I'm a picky sleeper so it's very possible other people won't have that problem. The bug net does have hooks on the inside that you can hang stuff from, but they are almost pointless. The bug net is held up by stretchy paracord. If anything you hang from those hooks is heavier than a cell phone, it's going to pull the bug net down on you. This hammock could benefit from a ridge line rather than using paracord. (It would also help maintain the sag needed for comfort.) The rain fly will protect you from heavy downward rain. (assuming you remember to add a few drip lines to your suspensions.) But if you get enough wind, you're going to get a little spray. Another little quirk I noticed is that often, the cell phone pockets would get caught in the zippers. But this isn't a big deal if you remember to tuck them out of the way. All in all, this is a good hammock for the money. The vendor is very helpful. I mistakenly thought I had too few stakes and guylines and they were getting ready to ship some extras out to me. (I ended up rereading the Amazon page for the hammock and realized I had what I needed.) With that being said, I had to return it because of the headaches I got. It just hugged a little bit too tight for me. ... show more
