  • Very scale looking plane
Wow, flew great the 1st time. Done like 6 flights and it is still one of my favorite planes to take to a small field by my house.

  • Cute Plane but VERY POORLY BUILT
First- I have 4 UMX planes, saw this one and had to have it. So I ordered it and 2 of the 2s batteries, glad I did! I started off in expert mode and it is a great acrobat plane to fly. Landed and swapped batteries, on the second flight I was putting it through it’s paces, after about 3 min if flight I saw something flu off the plane and it was very hard to control. Landed and doing that one of the wing Stanton’s had tore off and the other one was cracked. If it wasn’t for the wing cables it woulda folded in half and , Well you know what woulda happened next. Tried to contact Horizon with no response at all, talked to Amazon and there was nothing they could do but replace it or return it. Unfortunately the packaging I had already sent out for recycling and I really don’t want to have to go to ups and deal with them. So I guess I’m stuck with a cute but expensive wall hanger!! • Not too bad
Overall, I like this plane. It flies well and is locked in with the gyro. Performing stunts are fun, and it has plenty of power to do them. But there are a few problems. The battery tray is weak and has no reinforcement. That snapped the first time I took the battery out. The other issue ( but could just be mine) are the stickers. They are wrinkled and uneven in multiple places. I feel that the fuselage could be put together better, as it seems weak with all these different sections making it up. All this being said, if you do not care to have a perfect aircraft, I highly recommend it. I think that it's good for beginner acrobatic pilots who need cheaper parts once they crash the plane. ... show more

  • Great little aerobatic plane!
I'm a big PITTS fan, and the new v2 UMX Pitts is a winner! I've only flown mine on 3S, and it really moves out. The AS3X and SAFE mode make it docile enough for most novice pilots, and without SAFE on it's plenty of fun and aerobatic for accomplished pilots! The only downside so far is the wing struts are very thin foam and crease easily, as did one of mine when the model flipped over on a grass landing. I can also see myself increasing tge throws on the tail, as the model needs more to do flat spins, etc.. ... show more

  • I got an essay here! Poor quality parts are just the beginning; don't forget the foam safe CA glue
First don't even think about flying this if the wind is greater than 4~5 mph. Unless there is Zero wind, like inside and empty zeppelin hanger, you will have to turn on the gyros to fly, this thing gets whipped around and beaten in the wind otherwise, but still only 2~3 MPH total. If you are an advanced expert you might be able to fly it without the gyros in the wind; which is how I first crashed mine. The only thing I could do with no gyros was to fight the wind, so no hope of doing anything cool. Second the radios capable of flying this thing start at $300 (for official ones I think a $200 RadioMaster 4-1 should work). That is over twice the cost of the plane for the transmitter. There are 4-1 radios out there, and ebay exists, so you don't have to fork over #300+ for a transmitter. Third don't think you can replace the receiver, even if you found an appropriate receiver, the ESC is part of the receiver on this plane. Which considering you need the gyros for wind is ok. The first flight was pretty good at 70% everything (I used same expo i think 20%), I came down early so I could adjust the rudder to 100% and leave everythig else at 70% (after adding the gyros I went back to 100% all around). The book said to check the trim after the first few flights, so I thought i would monitor it every flight, and after this short flight, the elevator trim was way off, I had no down elevator (pitch down), and the half way point was pitching up half of what it could so pushing the stick all the way up resulted in an even elevator, I couldn't believe that it was that off but thats what the controls were doing, so I fixed it up, and had to use all the slack they had for physically trimming the elevator. Second flight went ok until wind upset the plane so much that i lost control and crashed. It survived the first crash, but not the second that went the same way the wind knocked me out of the air, it came back in pieces. This plane should come with a bottle of foam safe CA (super) glue. This plane glues back together beautifully. Other than the glue dissolving the red paint, you can hard spot the breaks. When i went to fly I checked the trims, and the elevator was off again, the other direction this time, so i try to spread the loop back out and the linkage breaks, this may have been my fault but I can't say for sure. No flying that day another low wind day wasted. I fixed the elevator, but to shorten the story it turns out the control horn is too flimsy for the job and slowly got mangled i had one flight that went short (luckily it turns out,) because the canopy flew off. I couldn't take off on the next flight, I had no elevator command left. the control rods were bending, because the control horn was mangled, and forces were just going in all directions. So i had to replace the control horn, can't get a replacement because it will be just as flimsy. I laser cut one out of 1/8 ply (6mm x 25mm) and did some major reconstruction of part of the elevator. It seems to be in trim now, but I haven't had a chance to fly it again. don't bother with 2S battery. Get the 3s. I also noticed there was some fatigue on the rudder control horn as well that I re-enforced to prevent it from breaking. Did not include enough battery straps, only really enough for one, you will have to buy some of the new type of velcro tape to add to additional batteries. Those foam things in between the wings are a joke; I couldn't find them, I used thin carbon fiber rods and it seems much better, ... show more

  • Not for beginners or faint of heat!
What a magnificent flying machine. I can't believe the acrobatics this plane will perform right out of the box. I have been flying RC planes for over a half a century and this plane compares to the big planes. I would like to tell you about all the bad features of this plane but I haven't found one yet. If you like a little fun I would recommend this plane. If you are a beginner you must have a experienced pilot help you. Infact if you are a beginner get some experience before trying this plane! I love the EFLU15250 and would highly recommend this plane and I am so glad E-FLITE brought it back. ... show more
