I purchased it based on reviews and I am not disappointed. It's smooth, quiet , powerful and the foot control make it easy to control. Only time will tell but so far I'm very happy and use it daily since it was delivered. Would buy again! It arrived Mar 19,23 today is May 9, 23 it has been a great tool and I don't use it every day but I have used it a lot and tonight I stopped to change to a polishing mandrel and it wouldn't work. There have been no issues with until now so, I checked the brushes and they were still long and looked fine. I switched it to reverse and it works in reverse but not forward. Any ideas of what it could be? I'm quite handy with just about everything including electric motors but, diagnostics is not my thing in electric motors UPDATE: I was getting a little upset because blades were coming unscrewed due to reverse only and started flipping the power forward/reverse switch and now it's working so, I will try to find switches. Still runs quite, powerful I switched the forward/reverse switch a couple times quickly and it has been performing spectacular. If you ever encounter this problem, try this or at least the switch can be replaced. As much as I have used this, there's no way I would waste my money on a foredom or other expensive flex shaft grinder. I've done the maintenance and greased the shaft and I have never experienced any hot hand piece or shaft It's getting on to nearly a year and a lot of heavy use with no other issues since the time it stopped working in forward and after flipping the switch a couple of times it worked fine and still continues to work great for all of my cutting and polishing needs. I do take the shaft apart when I guess i have about 50 hrs of use and grease the flex shaft and put it back together and I cannot complain at all. I am going to order the 780w flex shaft from DZQ because 1000w is not necessary at all. If you've never used one you will find out that you will not need 30,000 rpm's. I still have not had to change out the brushes on the motor yet and they still look like new. If anyone has a problem they must have received a defective item or I am very lucky which is not likely. I was here to order the 780 watt and thought I would post an update since I've had this one so long and no let downs since that one hiccup. Don't know what the problem was but, I've never had it again. Hope this helps as it was definitely worth taking the chance on over spending a small fortune on Foredom .Today is Oct 15 2024 and I'm happy to report this flexshaft is still going strong and without issue.

I was unsure of what wattage rotary tool I needed, as all I'm really doing is small drilling and sanding with it, but this thing was more than strong enough for my needs. In fact, I struggle to think of what this couldn't do that a stronger unit could. I'm also a big fan of the drill chuck this uses instead of the awful collet systems most such tools use.

I used it for engine work. You have to be careful not to allow your finger to touch the chuck where the indention for the chuck is. Also I didn't give it 5 stars because the chuck fell off the arbor several times. I will have to press it back on, maybe use locktite or something. It can use 1/4 inch burrs no problem unlike others that you can only use the small 1/8 " shaft. Excellent for porting chores.

Package arrived on time & all components were included. The bits aren't great quality, but there are a couple I can use. (Photo of carousel shows bits I purchased elsewhere). The pedal & motor cables are long enough to set up comfortably, but not so long that they might be a tripping hazard. I was disappointed that there is no on-off-reverse switch on the motor itself as pictured on the 1000w unit. On testing the unit to lubrate the shaft, the stylus became scalding hot within 3 minutes (outer layer appears to be a copper composite). In addition, there's no beveling on the notch for the chuck, so the chuck key will quickly be stripped). Purchased an Apex Forge flex shaft to replace this dangerous one. Hopefully the motor works doesn't suffer the same overheating tendency.
