    • Spray Painted Aluminum?
These were of disappointing quality. The gold was much more pink/copper than I had expected from the picture and they are very obviously just spray painted metal (confirmed when I wiped at a spot with an alcohol pad and the paint came away, revealing silver beneath). I’m going to spray paint it a more accurate gold color, but will likely try to replace this with the real Opal vessel once it’s back in stock. From an installation standpoint, this was easy to put up, but as others have said the screws it comes with are poor quality. This really seemed overpriced to me for what it was. ... show more

This piece is somewhat larger than you what you think by looking at the photo. Perfect ornamentation for kitchen with green or flowers in container. Hang towel on hook.

    • Good concept. A few design imperfections may limit some uses. SOLID - but not very "polished"
I'll start answering a couple questions I noticed ... YES it does have mounting hardware. Pretty straightforward mounting strategy. There are 3 small holes (a little less than 1/8" wide) through the shallow cup shape which goes against flat surface you'd mount it to. "Cup" is hollow (no back piece) - and the holes are placed close to the outer edge of the circle. There are the typical mounting screws included - with plastic anchors - so it's intended to be OK with wood or dry wall type installation. One of the "imperfections" I mentioned, is the placement of holes for mounting. They all seem evenly spaced - but unusually placed. The lowest hole is about 1/4" to the right of what would have been DIRECTLY below the hook. The 2 upper holes are offset of the horizontal plane by about 1/2" too. (Right side is high - Left side is low) This seems like it's going to make mounting it so the "basket" and cup sit level a little tricky. (Thinking I'll fill the "vase" part almost full of water and use that as I'm mounting the "Basket/hook" part to check for where level is. Weather resistance question - I'm thinking not completely - but caulk could help with that. 3 spots are "open" in the basket/hook frame... The center bottom of the basket - where the curved tube connects - is totally open to the tube. (You could pour water down the tube from there, and it would come out, where the other end of the tube connects to the top of the mounting "cup". There's also a fairly wide gap around the spot where tube MEETS the wall mounting cup. (Those parts ARE solidly connected though. They look welded and reinforced from the underside of the cup.) 3rd place water could be a problem - is where the "mounting cup" connects to the flat surface. Some kind of rubber gasket could be useful there. Caulk ,or something like it, could probably fix ALL of the open spots. WHERE you want to mount it will impact how much (if ANY) weatherizing you'll want to do. SO - my other "imperfection" is pickier... The finish is less "polished brass" looking than the pictures look to me - and more - "painted gold" look. Not BAD - just different. Seems not QUITE as "elegant" as I was expecting. THAT said - I didn't really have a set spot in mind for this item. Thought was, maybe INSIDE near the door - OR - maybe OUTSIDE near the door. TO ME - I think the less polished overall look of the item says OUTSIDE CASUAL where it'll fit decor better. (That's just ME of course!) Master plan also includes OPTIONS for the USE too... I'm thinking SOMETIMES use the vase - with whatever flowers are in the yard - or holiday foliage assortment ... autumn leaves - small pine/fir branches - etc. BUT - SKIP the vase - Put a SOLAR LIGHT there INSTEAD also a idea. SO MANY options possible with this combo. Despite the imperfections - changing it up will be FUN YEAR ROUND! ... show more
