  • Read this!!!! You’ll be glad you did.
This kit does not include nuts to to connect to the cat!!! You will have to buy them if you can’t use the old ones (just go ahead and buy the nuts). They are a weird size, and here it is: M10-1.5 flanged hex nuts (Dorman part # 962-017. For the review, well it’s a decent exhaust. I was repairing my frame and rebuilding the rear suspension on my TJ when I discovered that the muffler was cracked on top. I got this shipped in two days and it went in fast. Now we had the Jeep 30” off the deck, so I’m not sure if that made it easier. The bad is that the tip wasn’t mounted 100% straight, it hangs a little low, and the tip was razor sharp. It clearances well, I bent the tip to straight and filed off the edges. For the price and rapid shipment, it was a great deal. Its really close to factory sound. Now guys looking for power might want to go ahead and drop the skid plate (6 bolts and make sure you support the transfer case) and pull the cat as well which is also bolt on. Bolt on using nuts and bolts, 5/16 in size. The last O2 sensor is up flow, so like..... maybe you can break the crap out of the inside of the cat and get MUCH better flow. I’m not saying I did this, wink wink, but it’s likely a NOTICEABLE power gain. I would buy again and I hope this info helps. ... show more

  • Good product simple install
Solid product for the $. Installed on 2006 Jeep Wrangler getting the nuts off and on was the hardest task. Multiple long attachments a pivot attachment good to go. Remove the hangers and install them on the tailpipe then back onto the frame move the exhaust around until correct clearance was achieved. Again just in my case it was easier to remove the nuts from the front of the skid plate. ... show more

  • Wrangler 02 slightly better than stock... Happy? definetly....
The worst part was removing the old parts. Have the right tools and place or you will do some crying. The skid plate wasn't nice to me. 3' of extensions with 2 universals were used to get around it as well as torches to cut old rusted nuts and bolts off. Luckily a friend helped me at his shop for next to nothing. I installed a direct fit Bosal Cat at the same time as this muffler with tail pipe. There is a little purring at idle speeds but, the thrills end there. Nothing that noticeable really but, at the cost of stock replacement, this is worth it to upgrade from Walker or generic brands. Not a Flowmaster comparable "sounds like" either. Just a 1st class stock OEM part for the most part. Maybe it will break in or something but, still a good buy for replacing the muffler and pipe without welding. Really nice stainless tip that points straight out from under my bumper and is plainly visible. Happy with my find and end result over all. I didn't want a loud exhaust to bring any more attention. Any body ever use BRAKE CLEANER before?? I cleaned the tail pipe interior with it and rubbing alcohol with a shop towel on the outside to remove sticker and oils. The pipe was squeaky clean literally. I should have painted it. It would've been sharp with black rust-proof and the stainless tip. I only cleaned the outsides of the muffler and cat with alcohol. I do not recommend wetting the inside of those with anything. I can smell something a little bit like a plastic factory but, not like what I expected from previous reviews. The smell hasn't been lingering around and I don't really smell it on the highway either. Sitting at the lights I can smell the plasticy smell. I've heard that all mufflers with fiber glass filter media have a smell at 1st. I think I may have minimized the smell because I do not see any smoke what so ever. Good luck. ... show more

  • Check the muffler right away....no flange on mine
I bought this along with a bunch of other parts for my Jeep TJ and didn't get around to installing it for a month. After getting the old system off I took the muffler out of the box and discovered it doesn't have the flange installed on the cat side. The return date expired yesterday and I don't have time now to wait anyway so I guess i'll weld a flange on it myself. If they had sent the right muffler it would have been an easy install and a good rating but they didn't and I need to fabricate for free. ... show more

  • Good sound, keeps the Jeep quiet and the straight exit keeps the tip away from the rocks.
This was a true bolt in, I wheel a 2003 Jeep Rubicon through rock gardens from Florida to New York to Oklahoma and everywhere in between. I tweaked(bent the crap out of the factory tailpipe) in a gnarly rock garden in Arkansas. I replaced the muffler and tailpipe with this kit. I appreciate the straight end, that tucks up beside my aftermarket trailer hitch, and the very quiet sound of the muffler. ... show more

  • Too cheap to include the two nuts for the muffler flange studs.
Luckily I had read the reviews and knew that they for what reason did not include 2 fifty cent nuts for the flange studs on the muffler of a two hundred dollar exhaust system. This inconvenienced me as well as many other customers forcing us to chase down the nuts. Otherwise I am pleased. Took away 1 star because on ignorant business ethics. ... show more

  • Great oem replacement at good price. Fit and sound like oem. Nuts included!
Good replacement for oem fit and sound. Easy install, I took skid plate/ transmission support off for easy access to muffler to converter connection..... that was the most time consuming part of the process, but not bad. Don't expect it to be louder or add any noticeable performance changes. I didn't want a loud exhaust, maybe a little more tone . Overall it's a good exhaust especially for the price. I did receive all hardware, including the nuts and even a sticker. ... show more

  • Exhaust system
This fit my 2002 TJ Wrangler. The only 2 issues I ran into was that the clamp that came with the muffler is more of a U bolt clamp. I purchased a different clamp , Roadformer 2.5" Lap Joint Exhaust Band Clamp - Preformed Stainless Steel for 2.5" ID to 2.5" OD Exhaust Pipe Connection off of Amazon. The exhaust system was a great replacement. Has a little deep sound to it which makes it sound good. Not loud enough to make the neighbors mad. ... show more
