Installed this weekend. As others have written, getting the old one off was more time consuming then installing this new system. Kit came packaged well with everything needed to install it to the factory cat. So, what you see in the picture for the kit is NOT correct. I received three standard clamps, a clamp with a hanger welded on (didn't use it as it didn't work for my set up), an adapter to attach the muffler to the factory cat, and of course the tailpipe and muffler. Bends in the tailpipe were perfect. Only hiccup was the hanger welded on the tailpipe. For my 2000 XJ Sport, the hanger is welded on the wrong side and points in the wrong direction. After contemplating cutting the hanger off and buying a universal clamp with a hanger welded on in the correct way, I slid my breaker bar on the hanger and twisted around so it faced in the correct direction. Problem solved! I gave it four stars because of the welded on hanger and the clamp hanger that was not helpful and the fact that it is newly installed and so I'm not sure how it will last. I will update this review after running it for a bit.

2001 Jeep Cherokee xj. I would like to be able to rave about this purchase...NO! I'm disappointed with the sorta semi it kind of fits. I purchased this exact kit two years ago. It was better made and had the much more robust flange adapter which was a good two inches deeper when slid onto the muffler inlet. On the new product sent to me it was necessary to completely weld the inlet to the flange as there was little chance of it staying on the muffler. The muffler is a very low grade aluminized muffler and the manufacturing of the unit is pretty low grade as well. The exhaust tubing is a much cheaper grade of electrically welded sheet steel rolled. The whole unit was way over priced in comparison to other aluminized systems offered on the web. By comparison I could easily have chosen a brand competitor providing the same style of components for 75$ cheaper. I chose this simply because I had already installed it two years ago and figured it would be a no brainer. I wont say it is total poop but it is over priced. Just don't kid your self into thinking your buying a long lasting high quality cat back system. IMHO The old adage is ringing super loud here.... caveat emptor And the manufacture must make this of the absolute lowest grade metal available because it rots off a midwestern (WI) kept xj in two years ....lol! On a side note the product was shipped quickly and all components were provided. Just a humble opinion, your mileage may vary!

Nice System. After 18 years of the original, it was time to replace it. I had a shop install this unit only because I didn't have the time and the original was fairly rusted and difficult to remove. Not much sound difference in my mind, the OEM muffler had only rusted through the first layer, so the sound was similar. Perfect fit for a 2001 Jeep Cherokee w/ factory trailer hitch, no additional clamps / hangers required. 4 stars because the kit DOES NOT include the cat converter adapter pipe nuts (It's not like my Jeep just rolled off the assembly line). Picked up some at Home Depot , M10X1.5 ( quick reply from the Amazon community and manufacturer rep. on size) I'll update on how it lasts through the N.E. winters

Fitted to a 93' Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0L I6. This was an absolute bear to install due to the tight slip fitting at the factory catalytic converter. I suggest replacing it as well since if the muffler section is cooked, the cat will be too, or close to it. We have had good luck with the Flowmaster catalyst for our Jeep. An angle grinder will make the job a LOT easier due to the slip fitting and rusty OE fasteners. The exterior exhaust note is more aggressive than stock, especially at idle (sounds great!) with no notable increase in interior volume or drone. A good option for a stock or mild Jeep. Based on the materials, I could see a NE car going through these due to salt on the roads in winter, but most other regions should be okay.

I do like this exhaust system. The bends were true to the OEM pipe and it was a cinch to install. Only negative is that the stainless steel tip (or is it chrome? Not sure) is showing signs of oxidation only 24 hours after installing it. Sure, it did rain all day yesterday when I broke her in, but I wouldn't expect rust so soon. Thinking either I'll dremel grind it off on the very tip of the tip or simply break out the reciprocating saw and put an aftermarket tip on there. Either way, this went on a blacked out Jeep and this is the ONLY non black part visible. Still, it does the job adequately and sounds fantastic paired with my Magnaflow High Flow Cat that I installed at the same time. I would call the sound this makes a medium growl at idle. You will feel much more acceleration and hear more of the glorious Jeep 4.0 motor in the 2K-3K RPM range. At least, that's my experience. YMMV. I would probably buy this again if I needed to, but I live in Florida and this vehicle has never seen snow or the salt associated with northern winters so I doubt it will be necessary. 1998 Jeep XJ, RWD. Perfect fit.

Updated Post July 2021 Well, 2 winters through and muffler had a full catastrophic failure on the tube that connects to the cat. Completely broke off due to corrosion. 2 years and 3 months of life? Will not purchase again. Not happy with the performance, but exhaust parts for XJ's are in short supply in terms of options. Original Post April 2019 Used as a replacement for the same parts by Walker ordered 4 years earlier. These definitely seem to be better made, especially given the Walker pipe and muffler had a catastrophic failure after only 4 winters in NYC. Sound is not much different and MPG has had no change. Full disclosure running this on a stock 4.0l with a Cowl Air Intake and a bored throttle body. Great price and a really solid looking product. Will update if and when it rusts out and fails.
