This is my husbands very detailed review.....I’m fairly new to pulling a 26ft Camper Trailer averaging over 1 camping trip per month since January, have 11 trips under my belt now. I’ve towed an 18ft boat for yrs in the past but towing a 26ft building that I can’t see over in my rear view mirror is a totally different game. Since January I’ve been relying on a wireless Standard Definition 720x480 resolution magnetic backup camera and an iPad when towing the camper. This camera setup helps for when parking and to know when things are clear for lane changes while driving. After 9mos I felt it was time to find a better camera setup for towing the camper. I love the portability of using a magnetic mounted self powered camera so it can easily be detached to be used for other purposes besides just being a backup camera so when searching for a new camera setup I wanted to stick with another portable magnetic camera system. After reading many positive reviews on Amazon for the DVKNM FHD 1080P w/7” IPS Monitor I decided to go with this camera system since it checked off many of the *features I was looking for. * Nice clear bright big dedicated monitor, no more need to use the iPad * Higher video resolution (1920x1080 vs old camera’s 720x480) * Portable magnetic mount wireless camera * Option to connect several more cameras (up to 4 total cameras can be paired and viewed in split quad screen mode) My initial impression and performance review after setting up, mounting, testing and getting to know the new camera system (mounted both old and new cameras running side by side for comparison) • SETUP and MOUNTING - the camera and monitor came already paired together, just turned on the monitor then turned on the camera and the video was on the display within 15 seconds (the camera arrived precharged w/3of4 charge indicator LEDs on). Mounting the camera was simple since I already had a metal plate in place at the back of the camper which I’ve been using to mount my old magnetic camera. • BUILD QUALITY - this camera’s build quality visually and physically feels to be built with much better materials compared to my old camera. It’s made of plastic as well but all the edges and corners are rounded off and if I tap on the older camera’s housing it sounds hollow but if I tap on the new DVKNM camera’s housing there’s no hollowness sound. The new camera feels as if it weighs about 3-4 times the weight of my old camera. • VIDEO PICTURE QUALITY - SOOOO much more better (details, clarity, sharpness, colors, contrast, field of view …awesome) The iPad used for my old camera setup has a great HD display but the old camera’s standard definition video resolution just looks soft and washed out with bad contrast on the iPad screen. • WIRELESS SIGNAL STABILITY - this still needs to be tested. We have another camping trip coming up soon within the next 1-2wks. I will make sure to update my review about how stable the wireless transmission is on this DVKNM camera system after I get a few hours on the road with the camper hitched up. This is one of big issues with my old camera setup, the video would randomly freeze/pause for 1-2sec while driving and sometimes pretty frequently. I can also see there is always about a 1sec delay in the video feed one the old camera setup. I know there will always be a video delay when dealing with wireless cameras but hopefully the new camera’s delayed video is less. **HANDY UNEXPECTED BONUS - this camera system has a built-in DVR feature. Other past reviewers mentioned there System came with a 64gb memory card installed but mine arrived with a 128gb card. I didn’t think much about the built-in DVR feature when I ordered this camera system but when going through the setup I discovered the DVR could be used as a dash cam. I’m planning on getting additional cameras and using one of the cameras to serve 2 purposes, 1) as a forward facing constant recording dash cam while driving to destinations and 2) as a curb parking assist camera. Backing up the 26ft camper in front of the house and in front of the neighbor’s car parked tight and straight next to the curb is one of the toughest tasks involved when towing it. Being that these cameras are self powered portable units provides the ability to have one camera easily serve several purposes.

This is a pretty nice device to have for a rv trailers, big truck, or van. You could technically use it to view outside as well if you are staying in your RV. It would be a bit of an overkill for a car if you happen to want to use it for that. There are NO cables for the camera so that makes this super easy to install. The monitor though does have to be plugged in though. You can attach this to your dash or such. It can be used when you are backing up and such. The screen on this device is just your standard 7 inch which is pretty standard. You only get one camera to use and it is battery powered. It can be charged via solar panel just be aware that it does need to be recharged. The nice thing is that you do not need any screws or such. It is a pretty strong magnet but not strong where it could scratch the area when removing it. It works well in daylight or night time which is great. The main cable is integrated into the monitor so if you happen to break that it is extremely difficult to replace. Regardless, the cable itself is pretty thick and durable so I do not see that being an issue. Again you do have to screw anything in when it comes to the camera. You do however need to install the monitor though. I did not have to do any pairing to the camera when I got this. It does not have wifi capability from what I can tell. It just syncs together. Again this product does come with all the wiring you will need to hook this device up. The main wire is okay length and durable. I had a chance to test it in rain weather and the camera can be blocked from the water hitting it and drips down. I would recommend just making sure the solar panel is in direct sunlight. It is able to get a good amount of energy for a full day of power. You are able to charge it separately if needed. The camera is actually really nice to have to ensure you get the best view when backing up or just during the night when you need to view outside the RV. The screen control is fairly straight forward to use. It is not a touchscreen so be aware of that. All the controls are in the front. Note that this does have a suction cup holder. It holds but the screen is not exactly light. It comes pre installed with 64 gb card. You are able to record with the camera which is nice. It records in a loop so it'll override any old footage. Overall this is a great product for big trucks, home vans, and RV trailers. It does not require any kind of drill into your vehicle and such in order to place the camera. The wires are very durable and gives you plenty of length. The picture quality is amazing and works in day or night. The only problem I have is that the screen cable is integrated so it becomes harder to replace if it burns out.

i purchased theDVKNM Magnetic Solar Wireless camera along with an extra camera for my RV camper. Pulling a camper you have blind spots in rear and on the sides. The DVKNM camera works like a charm. it was easy to set up and pair the cameras. The 7" monitor is very clear and it is convenient to not have to charge the solar camera. The magnetic bases are very powerful and will not come off. It will be very easy to transfer it over to my kids vehicles when they want to use the RV. I would recommend it to anyone. An extra bonus is they offer a free camera or charger as a gift which is a savings of about $80.

I'm a OTR truck driver and decided to purchase this unit for those blind side backing days. I tested the unit while at home on my car. The camera unit has strong magnets and didn't fall off while driving through the bumpiest road I could find. The units were already paired from the factory, but if not the pairing directions are very simple. There are multiple ways to install the monitor to the vehicle along with power wiring. The monitor also arrived with a 64GB memory card pre-installed and formatted (records from the rear camera). You get 2 different types of antenna to use for each unit. I haven't had time to test at night but I believe that the unit will perform fine. I would definitely recommend this unit and purchase a second set for my daughter's car.
