    • Starter died in less than two usages less than 50 hours
This is a great generator for large loads. I have had this hold up my 2000 square foot house and is now currently managing my camp at elevation levels 6500'. Tech support is great and I can find repair shops nearby who work with DuroMax but mine is now in the shop for starter replacement in less than 50 hours with two starts. Unfortunately because they don't make inverter generators at this size except Duromax I had to purchase another one for backup. ... show more

    • Seller will not stand behind their product. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!
I purchased the generator for my house in the event of a loss of power. It arrived well packaged and with instructions for a break in period. I followed all the instructions to a tee. The unit started fairly easy but was obviously struggling to maintain an RPM to generate power. Upon looking at the oil an excessive amount of metal was found in the oil. A claim was filed with them for a refund which they denied. Thet said SOME metal was to be found in the oil at break in. I have over 40 years experience with internal combustion engines, rebuilding, building new and repairing. I understand a small amount or material is to be found in the oil at break-in. The unit had been run at the factory so the metal left from manufacturing should have been cycled through the filter and caught by the filter then. something is self-destructing internally in this engine. They will not stand behind the product. Amazon will not stand behind their so-called A to Z guarantee. I have exhausted my claim and appeal opportunities for this and am now just stuck with it. Could I repair it myself sure. but after spending over 5000 dollars of hard-earned money why should I have to do that for a brand-new piece of equipment. All I can say is buyer beware! move to some other vendor for a better generator. I feel the price that is involved here is preventing a satisfactory outcome. I hope it is not the keep denying until they just get tired of trying scenario. If something changes in this process, I will update this review to reflect the results. Update: Amazon will not stand behind their warranty. I have provided pictures and professional opinions to no avail. The third party reseller will not respond. This item because it is an expensive unit has caused them to look for any loop hole to deny a refund. This is a shameful example of blatant disregard for the customer.     • Nice generator, but arrived faulty
We love the generator overall. It’s quiet, and has great features like a key fob to turn on/off. However, it leaked oil badly on arrival and once we’d disassembled found there was a scratch on the engine block and a missing o ring causing the leak. Easily enough fixed, but frustrating to have to fix something that was $5,000 and brand new. ... show more

    • horrible gas mileage
I was about to purchase this product because its the most powerful inverter generator on amazon. Then I noticed it has a 10.5gal tank and runs for 10 hours. In a hurricane or after one the LAST thing I wanna do is risk my life going to get more gas because the generator runs a w16 bugatti motor in it apparently. Then I see all the other people's reviews who actually spent 5 THOUSAND American dollars on this chinese made product and see the one guy who had large metal chunks in his oil (indicating the engine had exploded internally) and the company refused to give him a refund and amazon wouldnt return it either. So even if you get a good one its still going to have the WORST gas mileage of any generator on the market. ... show more

    • Very well built generator
Only problem I have is the generator when running vibrates the 50 amp male plug out and arcs. Hoping to get some ideas on how to correct that problem.
